Hello all, my name is Salem, and I am very much stuck alone in my own head. (there's crickets sometimes, but only really just myself.)

My beloved bride, whom I wed in a mere 3 months from now, (blackwing_angel) exsists in a system, and I thought being here might help me understand that and learn to cope with her metaphysical quirks, since she's taking the time to adapt to my own.

I was readign through some psots beforeI joined, and saw someone mention a multiples system symbol, like the TG symbol or the gay rainbow.

Neat idea, might give the community a bit more national unity and recognition if it became widespread. Or, ya know, just look cool. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v513/only_for_him/MultiplesEye.jpg submitted for your perusal. My skills at art are slim in this area, so if it's liked and someone else wnats to redo it better, please, go right ahead and do so.

It might help if you don't think of them as existing in her head. After all, she is a person in their head. If you think of things as her head, her body, her life, ect; that's reinforcing the idea that your wife is more important than the others. Try using more neutral terms like the body, ect. that reflect their joint ownership of things.

She can be the most important to you but that doesn't mean she's the most important. Just because she's the one you see the most doesn't mean that the others are secondary citizens in their own body. They're just as real as she is. Their existance isn't dependant on her. Nor does she own the body. The body belongs to all of them, just like their life does.

We were thinking it would be cool to have a 'Multiple National Convention' or 'Multiple International Convention', hehe. :)

Someone tried to do a MultiCon a few years back, but they couldn't work it out.

http://www.livejournal.com/community/multicon2003/

IMO-- the main reason it didn't work was because they were trying to book it at a hotel, and charging US$200 for a reservation. They got some signups, but not enough. Most people don't have that kind of money to spare-- I know we certainly don't.

If anyone actually wants to go ahead with a serious multiples' convention, it should probably be more along the lines of Autreat (http://ani.autistics.us/autreat.html)-- small, informal, in a relaxing environment. I'm not sure if we'd be excited about workshops or panels, although the option should be left open. For us, the main attraction would be the idea of actually getting to meet and hang around with other multiples offline-- I suspect this would be the case for many, especially those who don't know any others in their day-to-day life.

Actually, that's probably true. I don't know as though any of us would want to do 'workshops', or whatever. But meeting up with everyone on here who has been great friends, supportive, true, etc... that would be the real gift of a multicon. To really be with the people we're with everyday, online. ^_^

LOL!

Now I'm remembering those rotating nametags someone posted about where you can turn the wheel to display the name of whoever is fronting.

As another singleton I can't comment on its representativeness, but it's pretty!
