[identity profile] vinik.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] multiplicity_archives
Hey guys!

We were just wondering what happened to the 'Positive Plural Survivor Community' idea that [livejournal.com profile] standingstone was posting about earlier? It's been a month, and since this post we haven't heard any updates on the concept. Is [livejournal.com profile] standingstone still planning on founding a community? Has there been any changes to the proposal for it? We really think it's important that a group like this is founded for those that need it in the multiple community.

Thanks,

David and co.

What exactly was wrong?

I saw discussion regarding that some didn't want a community that was completely *anti* psychology, I wasn't sure what came from it.

(and before anyone makes any asumptions I am not saying integration is wrong if it happens.I just dont think multiples should be working on it. It's like the difference between a gay person trying to be hterosexual because they feel they "should" and them sundenly falling in love with a member of the opposite sex out of the blue)

but if you wanted a gay frendly community you would want it free of "you should become straight cos its a sin" but you wouldnt want it "anti heterosexual". you can make a community thats not anti gay without making it anti hetero. so you can make a community that says some people do it this way some people do it that way some therapists are good some therapists are bad. thats what i think. it could be neither anti integration nor pro integration. you could say this comm isnt about integration so if its good for you good if its not good for you good but you can talk about that somewhere else cos this is a ptsd place.

Well, I guess some people might view being anti-integration as just as bad. Possibley a gripe there would be that somebody might like the idea of your community, but have a goal in mind, for themselves, of integration. They may not wish to go to another potentially demeaning community just because they think integration would work for them.

Just throwing stuff out there.

I probably couldn't join because 'typical' trauma induced systems aren't people I can even vaguely relate to, much as I'd like to work out my own issues.

By typical I wasn't meaning whiners, but fair enough. Our memory is dodgy as hell, I couldn't remember if it was for 'positive' trauma systems, or what.

Personally I find that some of the normal trauma communities are ok. Slowish (so I'd wonder about the traffic an even more specialised comm would get), but fine. [livejournal.com profile] p_t_s_d accepted me happily, multiplicity and all. They're not geared towards my situation (my trauma didn't happen here), but they've not rejected me at all.
