Rapid Switching

When in a chatroom with alleged multiples, they seem to switch very quickly between their mates. In one comment they're a little, and two seconds later they're a big, and three seconds after that they're an "angry alter", etc. For many reasons other then this though, I believe they're faking. But just wondered if this is possible for others.
I've tried to have my group better at rapid switching where we can switch out quickly and be completely separate while fronting because I think it would benefit certain situations, and I can't do it that fast.
Cofronting is even difficult... Our thoughts are kind of meshed... Or come out as one thought between the two of us. But they don't come out "I want to go!" "Me too!" All in one blurb.
I was wondering if people can truly switch as fast as these people in the chatroom do, because we can't do it even when trying!

Teehee. We compromise on backgrounds and privacy. We can't guarentee that either of us will be fronting for more than a minute. We switch too much/are too co-fronty. It's a shame because I think it would be awesome if we could have everything personalised. Trillian skins, Winamp colours, backgrounds. But we just switch way too much. I'll be chatting in IM and she'll decide to check LJ

winamp seems to think all windows accounts are the same. if you rate something a 3 in one account, it's a 3 in the other account too. if you make it purple in one account, it's purple in the other account too. kind of annoying. we're always rating other people's songs up or down accordingly...

LJTalk lets you talk to anyone on your friends list! it's cool. you need a client that supports the jabber protocol. I think Trillian probably works. We use Gaim. Then you set up the account, here's the information:

protocol: Jabber
screenname: yourljusername
server: livejournal.com
password: yourljpassword

port 5222

I have "use tls if available" checked and i have these unchecked: "force old ssl" and "allow plaintext auth over unencrypted streams". whatever that means.

It's available for free accounts, paid accounts, etc. If you haven't seen anyone using it, your friends list might not know about it, which means they won't be logged in to talk, but a post to your journal(s) should fix that. :)

and yeah, I wouldn't trust anyone else with my password, but the server is livejournal.com, and the creator of livejournal is the one who posted about it to lj-dev, and lj-dev is an official community, so that's enough for me to trust it.

Trillian (Pro Only)

Saw you mention trillian (I think?). Do you use that for LJTalk? It still work alright?

I don't use Trillian, and haven't for a long time, since well before LJTalk existed. So I didnt know if it worked or not, I just assumed. I know that gaim works. Though it won't work for us until our friend finishes making us a proxy to help us tunnel through this ridiculous firewall. We can only use port 80 right now. But that shouldn't be a problem if you have a normal internet connection.
