Jul. 20th, 2006 07:16 pmHello. ^^ We're, uh, we're not sure how to introduce ourselves, but let's give it a try, hmm?
We are the Raido Household, a healthy multiple system of females and males in a female body. No, we haven't been officially diagnosed and on medication, but you know something has changed when people inside your head talk to you. I (Katri) realised I'm a multiple some months ago, after I had been one for many years. I wasn't horrified or anything, I just went, "Okay, I ain't alone in my head. *hmm* Hi, who are you guys?" I've been into everything supernatural and mystic since I was a kid so that didn't really disturb me; at least I knew what the recently occurred weirdness was.
A little more disturbed I was when I suddenly noticed that I wasn't the original owner of the body. Anyone else out there with similar experiences? I don't remember what day it was, but I was thinking about multiplicity and suddenly Paju just said, "I'm glad you came along." I was bemused by her remark and we discussed it. I found out that Paju indeed was the original owner of the body and I was the first one to come along, the "second" person, so to speak. I guess this is where the common assumption comes in; you could say that my multiplicity is a result of a childhood trauma. Aren't school bullies fun? When I had come along, about six, seven years ago, Paju had left all the work to me and disappeared. She only came back less than three years ago. I don't hold it against her, though; I know it was the right decision to make. She's a lot gentler and gets hurts easier than I do. Now that those problems are over she might even gather enough courage to front more often.
The body, as we call it, still lives at home with her parents, so... Well, we manage (though we need to be careful sometimes). Most often it's either of the first two persons fronting because they know how we (the single the oblivious outsiders see us as) is supposed to behave. We do not intend to come out of the closet to my and Paju's parents, but there is one friend offline who knows us as we are. She's a multiple, too.
There are many others here - the last time we counted, 16 - but some of them don't come near the front often, they like to stay alone or with their friends. There are a few who front, too, but never without asking permission. Unless we're in a kind of a mode we call 'hurricane'; during those times the fronter changes almost every minute. Most of us dislike hurricanes, but this far we haven't been able to find out their cause.
There are otherkin, soulbonds and other, but we sorta dislike sorting them out because there is so much disagreement on the terms.
We also believe that the body is somewhat emphatic (as in, feeding off other people's emotions, including the others in the household).
To clear things to you (and myself, too) here's the list we put together (in order of appearance - yes, our life, The Movie *laughs*):
- Paju: Finnish, shy, introverted, loves forests.
- Katri: Finnish, extroverted, talks a lot (you probably noticed ^^'), likes to hang out with people, loves books and reading.
- Igor: Romanian, an amateur psychologist/psychiatrist, interested in philosophy and wines.
- Heta: Finnish, good-natured and our computer geek.
- Dana: British, an assassin, cusses like a lumberjack, dislikes crowds, labeled a "chick reeeal of her rocker" by Jesse. Causes mayhem with her best friend Mac (from the friend-system I earlier mentioned).
- Sugar: American, a stripper and a shopaholic, cheerful, likes to dance.
- Tiffany: British, a kid, mischievous, hyper, the girly girl.
- Börje: Swedish man, likes literature and good food, calm.
- Jesse: An American dude in the sense of the word, likes to watch Jackass. Part-time job: preventing Andrea (a woman from the friend system I mentioned) from blowing stuff up.
- Sin: An ex-angel, a thoughtful woman with a big heart.
- Jean-Luc: A French vampire, cynical, slightly arrogant.
- the German girl whose name we don't know yet.
- Sephiel: Another Fallen, Lucifer's librarian/accountant and lover. Though I don't know if I should believe him.
- Brenda: we don't really know her yet. She was around a few days ago but then she was gone again. We hope she'll be back.
- the Catholic young man, possibly Irish.
- the Russian man whose name we don't know yet.
- the Romanian woman whose name we don't know yet. But we suspect she's another vampire.
It's good to be plenty. :)

Date: 2006-07-20 08:48 pm (UTC)Our offline friends don't know we're a "we", either. Well, most of them don't - there are one or two who do, and strangely enough, they're not the host's closest friends.
We've only known we're multiple for about a year now - the host has known she wasn't all alone for quite some time, but we didn't really define ourselves as multiple. We still don't... we rather define ourselvs as, well, ourselves ;).

Date: 2006-07-20 08:52 pm (UTC)I guess we've just been lucky - there are the total of three people and they are the closest to us.
We still don't... we rather define ourselvs as, well, ourselves ;).
We think we know what you mean. Some of us disagree with labels pretty much.

Date: 2006-07-20 11:31 pm (UTC)My first mate here was a Finnish girl. I liked the language, made the mistake of having our main character's name in World of Warcraft be Finnish. Have never lived it down. Am now the most famously non-Finnish member of the entire server. Only after 6 months of playing have the "suomesta??????" whispers finally stopped.
I'd actually like to learn the language properly, hard to find places that teach it here though. It's somewhat 'obscure'.
Thwap your vamps. Human body! Enjoy it! Sunlight, candy, ice cream! THINK OF THE ICE CREAM.
*cough*

Date: 2006-07-20 11:40 pm (UTC)Oh, right. Rule number one: "Never choose your character's name from an odd language. People will assume you speak the language." ^_~ *giggles at the "suomesta??????* What was the name you chose?
I've heard a lot of people say that Finnish is in the top5 of the most difficult languages to learn. Don't know about that, it comes to me naturally. *winks and grins*

(Oh yes, the ice cream. Italian is the best, I find. - Jean-Luc)

Date: 2006-07-20 11:48 pm (UTC)The character's name is Lohikäärme. Everyone calls us Lohi for short. Someone on the voice chat channel finds Lohi hard to say, so, uh, on voice chat we're known as Salmon...
It sure sounds difficult to interperet. I caught my g/f sometimes speaking to her family while on yahoo chat, and dear *god* it goes fast. My 'past' says I spoke Hungarian (another language I'm interested in, but it's less practical than Finnish really), which is apparently also in the tiny tiny tiny language family that also contains Finnish. Bizarre but true. So maybe it'll be a little easier than usual. I can hope anyway.
Hopefully the far-too-much Apulanta will also prove useful.

Date: 2006-07-21 12:00 am (UTC)Yep. We studied those language groups last year in school. It was awful, I say. They were... Ugri-something? Dunno, we can't remember anymore.
Yay, Apulanta is a good band (especially their older production). If you're seriously going to study Finnish, wait 'til you get to the dialects. *an evil grin* Something as simple as 'I' in Finnish, 'minä', can be spoken as 'mie' in the eastern part of the country.

Date: 2006-07-21 12:08 am (UTC)ATM all I have is the Kiila album, and a couple of other tracks (Hiekka, Jumala, Viivakoodit, Terä). It's tricky to find torrents of *any* of their music. Though I'm told eMule is reasonabley good for it.
(Oh bollocks, there was a Finnish evening class in the uni down the road from where we lived last year. Now I'm doomed to wander for all eternity seeking classes)

Date: 2006-07-22 08:44 am (UTC)Forgive the lateness of the reply,.......We're just getting around to our Lj after about a week or so away,.
Either way, I think that you made a very wonderful, clear and consciec(sp?) Introduction,.
We're happy to see such a Diverse group inhabiting one body, although I would imagine that it gets rather stressful at times,.......but on the bright side,.......you don't have to all share one bathroom.
I Must admit that I'm rather excited, I haven't met too many others that freely admit that they have Vampires living in their system.
Although my life is proof to the contrary,..
My Brother Frost Is Romainian and a Vampire,.....we had a rather difficult day today,........We understand the Eyeballs falling out of the head because of heat and light,.
We look forward to talking with you more if you would like,.
Warmest Regaurds and Best Wishes,..........~M/F/J~

Date: 2006-07-22 08:53 am (UTC)And thank you. We were a bit worried about the intro since some of us thought it was too long and some of us thought it was too confusing.
You are right about the bathroom. x) Though, seriously, there are days when some people avoid coming near the front.
I haven't met too many others that freely admit that they have Vampires living in their system.
I wonder why? Personally, I see nothing wrong with being a vampire (of course there is the moral issue if one goes randomly biting other people's necks, but otherwise). Jean-Luc is lucky (no pun intended); the temperatures dropped a little around and he could spend some time outside without melting into a puddle of liquid.
It was hearing of you,

I know 'Frost' Sure doesn't mind Being a Vampire.
May we add you to our Friends list,.?
