Jul. 20th, 2006 07:16 pmHello. ^^ We're, uh, we're not sure how to introduce ourselves, but let's give it a try, hmm?
We are the Raido Household, a healthy multiple system of females and males in a female body. No, we haven't been officially diagnosed and on medication, but you know something has changed when people inside your head talk to you. I (Katri) realised I'm a multiple some months ago, after I had been one for many years. I wasn't horrified or anything, I just went, "Okay, I ain't alone in my head. *hmm* Hi, who are you guys?" I've been into everything supernatural and mystic since I was a kid so that didn't really disturb me; at least I knew what the recently occurred weirdness was.
A little more disturbed I was when I suddenly noticed that I wasn't the original owner of the body. Anyone else out there with similar experiences? I don't remember what day it was, but I was thinking about multiplicity and suddenly Paju just said, "I'm glad you came along." I was bemused by her remark and we discussed it. I found out that Paju indeed was the original owner of the body and I was the first one to come along, the "second" person, so to speak. I guess this is where the common assumption comes in; you could say that my multiplicity is a result of a childhood trauma. Aren't school bullies fun? When I had come along, about six, seven years ago, Paju had left all the work to me and disappeared. She only came back less than three years ago. I don't hold it against her, though; I know it was the right decision to make. She's a lot gentler and gets hurts easier than I do. Now that those problems are over she might even gather enough courage to front more often.
The body, as we call it, still lives at home with her parents, so... Well, we manage (though we need to be careful sometimes). Most often it's either of the first two persons fronting because they know how we (the single the oblivious outsiders see us as) is supposed to behave. We do not intend to come out of the closet to my and Paju's parents, but there is one friend offline who knows us as we are. She's a multiple, too.
There are many others here - the last time we counted, 16 - but some of them don't come near the front often, they like to stay alone or with their friends. There are a few who front, too, but never without asking permission. Unless we're in a kind of a mode we call 'hurricane'; during those times the fronter changes almost every minute. Most of us dislike hurricanes, but this far we haven't been able to find out their cause.
There are otherkin, soulbonds and other, but we sorta dislike sorting them out because there is so much disagreement on the terms.
We also believe that the body is somewhat emphatic (as in, feeding off other people's emotions, including the others in the household).
To clear things to you (and myself, too) here's the list we put together (in order of appearance - yes, our life, The Movie *laughs*):
- Paju: Finnish, shy, introverted, loves forests.
- Katri: Finnish, extroverted, talks a lot (you probably noticed ^^'), likes to hang out with people, loves books and reading.
- Igor: Romanian, an amateur psychologist/psychiatrist, interested in philosophy and wines.
- Heta: Finnish, good-natured and our computer geek.
- Dana: British, an assassin, cusses like a lumberjack, dislikes crowds, labeled a "chick reeeal of her rocker" by Jesse. Causes mayhem with her best friend Mac (from the friend-system I earlier mentioned).
- Sugar: American, a stripper and a shopaholic, cheerful, likes to dance.
- Tiffany: British, a kid, mischievous, hyper, the girly girl.
- Börje: Swedish man, likes literature and good food, calm.
- Jesse: An American dude in the sense of the word, likes to watch Jackass. Part-time job: preventing Andrea (a woman from the friend system I mentioned) from blowing stuff up.
- Sin: An ex-angel, a thoughtful woman with a big heart.
- Jean-Luc: A French vampire, cynical, slightly arrogant.
- the German girl whose name we don't know yet.
- Sephiel: Another Fallen, Lucifer's librarian/accountant and lover. Though I don't know if I should believe him.
- Brenda: we don't really know her yet. She was around a few days ago but then she was gone again. We hope she'll be back.
- the Catholic young man, possibly Irish.
- the Russian man whose name we don't know yet.
- the Romanian woman whose name we don't know yet. But we suspect she's another vampire.
It's good to be plenty. :)
