I was talking with my husband the other day, talking about why Analese has gone on a bint about autism and Kami. I told him that Analese was getting annoyed with having to clean up after Kami bathroom-wise and he said that was bull, personalities don't have to use the bathroom.

This confused me. I rarely go into the house but I know there's a bathroom. Am I the only system that has people who use the bathroom?

And I have another question. When another person fronts, I hang out on the front lawn so I can see and hear what's going on. Granted, I can go inside the house and just turn on the television but I have quicker access to fronting in case someone who doesn't know about the MP's shows up. Basically, the way it works in my system is, you walk out the front door of the house, walk up the sidewalk and if you step onto the street, you're fronting. How does it work in your systems?

It's sorta like that with us, except it's more like a town square sort of thing. There's the town, and when you're in the center of the town, in the square, you're fronting.

Uh... When I'm fronting I'm in the real world. In the body. I'm not anywhere inside. That seems... very odd to me, as a concept. If I was fronting, how could I be anywhere but here? I also don't have to move through a house at all or anything. Even if I were in our 'soulscape' at the time, I could change to front with a thought.

And no, I have never heard of a person inside having to use the bathroom before. The way I see it, is physical bodies have to use the bathroom. Spirits/other non-physical beings? Do they ingest solid food, pass it through their stomach intestines, digesting it before expelling it? Do they drink liquid, and filter it through their kidneys before expelling it? It's not a physical creature, of course it doesn't. It may have a 'digestive system' of a different nature, but not the same as ours.

There's likely other reasons for you having someone who does that. I certainly would be very suprised if it was common though, or something that they HAVE to do.

We have never taken the time to explore the inner world. The 3D is all We really know. Some do go "inside" but it's never brought up when they come "out." Guess We're just weird *G*

Pah, not wierd in the slightest. I frankly think it's better that way ;)

The concept of a house where my Others would live is very foreign to me. We are all "here".. it just depends on who is actually at front, as to who has control of the body. Then again, I can also have multiples of Us that share control of the body and what people outside of Us are experiencing as "Me".

I don't have a "interior" world.

In our group, we have an entire world, with the Mansion being the main locale, plus a schoolhouse, gardens, rainforest, lighthouse on the beach, a tower, a palace, some villages and hamlets, an observatory, a space station in orbit, and whatever else we're forgetting. When someone uses the body, we just do it. There really isn't any specific thing we do in order to get access to the body.

We have our House, where one can go when they are not fronting, but the mechanics of 'coming forward' are best explained as shifting seats in a vehicle. Someone is always driving, and someone is always either 'riding shotgun' and giving their advice or sitting in the backseat, which would equate to the House. There is always a connection, though; we are constantly cofronting to greater or lesser degrees. *grin* We wish we didn't have to, sometimes some privacy would be nice.

bathrooms and fronting

hey there

yeah. our roommate talked about bathroom stuff with her system and we were like uh ... and we checked in our house and discovered that we had a bath tub but nothing otherwise. we've since installed a toilet as well, as some people prefer that. the important thing to remember is that however your system is on the inside is alright. it's not abnormal or wrong - it's your system and it's okay. everyone's system works differently.

about fronting, for us we can front from anywhere inside. we think okay we want to front, and then we're front. sort of in a nondescript area in front of a black curtain, and when we go in, we end up back where we were. if we need to front where nobody else can access what we're doing, we can go inside the box, which is a metallic compartment. it seems to keep everyone out except one person, who seems to be able to pop out at any given time, to make random comments.

*grins* hey morgan you know we love you.

We have a bathroom in our house, but it rarely gets used.

We have puppets/bots with their own places and their bathrooms get used regularly. o.O This isn't something I've ever thought about before.

When someone here is fronting, they're sitting a foot in front of the TV in The Living Room. It's easy enough to know what is still going on in the headspace, or for people to co-front.

We despise bathrooms, 3D or otherwise. They are evil even if they are nessecary.

Fronting, for us, is like going to work. You wake up, kinda look at the temperature outside, kiss your loved ones and then go off. And then suddenly *pop!* we're awake in the 3D or whoever decided to go to work that day.
We have an entire cityscape inside, haven't activly gone there in a while and it doesn't come up, but we have an inside too.
Hope this helps.

We are unaware of any "headspace" analogue to out/fronting. As far as we know, they are separate mechanisms.

We have a distinct fronting room.. But, if someone wants to front and is unable to get to it, Courtney or one of the other computer people can hook them up to an intercom. *shrugs*

And we all have bathrooms in our houses or castle suites.. The only thing we know we use for sure in them are the showers or tubs. *shrugs*

We can front a few ways, but most commonly through specific doors, which provides a bit of order so many aren't trying to front at once. Also many of the younger ones are easily "called out" so by use of doors atleast there maybe a chance of someone seeing them and even preventing it if it's not the safest of situations. Or, like someone said above, just through "thought" of it sometimes for the older insiders.
We don't have a toliet inside, just many tubs, mostly for the littles that love water.

we have a front room that leads to the earth-world. you go thru that door and your in front, along with whoever is also there. there's a day bed there, several chairs and other things for people who have to spend lots of time there.

we have a bathroom, and we all use it. mostly. some of the men preffere to 'wing' it so to speak :)

our inside is a honeycomb of rooms, and yes, we have bathrooms, though I don't really know if they're used. I know the bathtubs are, because some of us, like Faith and Tara love to take warm baths...

our fronting room, is just that, its a room, off the common room, and to front, you just walk in, and sit down in the big chair. if we have to emergency front(although everyone is practiced at being me)we just sort of...do.

"Don't have to use the bathroom"? It's a world with physical laws pretty similar to that of this one... why would we not have to use the bathroom there? Are we just supposed to toaster-zap it out of our system?

If your world, whether inner or other, operates on the same laws as this one, nobody outside the system has any business telling you what is or isn't in it or what can or can't happen there. Actually, no one has any business telling you that anyway, even if the laws of nature are radically different there.

First I want to say no one outside of the community/system can ever say what is correct for that system. It's a little bugbear of mine, been there done that. If you guys have to use the bathroom then you do.

We are a gateway system so there basically the same fluid removal happens there, trying to be "polite" about it. We don't actually have indoor plumbing, so we don't technically have bathrooms although we "go to the bathroom".

Getting to this world, well we have a gate so to speak, it looks a little like the stargate in the movie, but not so ripply. For a long time we didn't have any say in who was pushed through that was in the hands of The Siblings. But now we are at a point where there is a lot of choice, You can go through the gate and end up directly in the body, but we have also learnt how to step through but remain in the swirly light stuff, it's about like being under water but not so disorientating. Man this stuff is hard to explain

we are still exploring our inner worlds, but it is a forrest basically with a door. to front one walks through the door. the others live and play in the forrest when they are not fronting. simple, but it works.

we're almost all blind to our world, but we've sorted out a few agreed locations.
fronting depends on who's taking who, and what kind of fronting their doing. but we 'take the face'. once we've glued in, were good to go. if were consciously attemping to front and having trouble, we 'let ourselves float'. and my face starts approaching 'the' face. once its locked in, the body comes pretty quick.
for geography, we've got 'fronting', 'in the head', and 'sublevel'. we don't know what happens to us when we go sublevel.

maybe ill try scanning our drawing of 'taking the face'.

candy

no bathrooms tho, unless you count the gutter we use for a brain :)

Rivvi and I are the only ones who have ever really imagined our inside. That sounds really weird, like you're imagining your guts or something. But both of of seem to have the same idea.

It's kind of a dark and grey place, like one big dark room. We're not sure how big it it. And in one corner is a light... or a few lights, or something. One of us is fronted. The others are sitting around the light. Or standing. Or pacing, or sleeping. We can talk to each other and the person up front. When I look in (which I've been doing a lot since I started writng this), it feels like everything is behind my eyes. And everyone looks like themselves, not like the body. (Kami is Asian and standing there, maybe pacing but every time I look at in he stops and smiles at me. Rivvi is sitting on the ground staring into space and has this really long hair... she changes what she looks like a lot.)

We're not sure if anyone else is beyond the light or not, or if that's where Alex went, or much else. Usually I can't remember what went on while I was inside unless I think really hard about it. I remember sitting on the edge of the light a lot, and watching what was going on or memories or dreams. I don't really care what the inside looks like because I can't remember it anyway. Having a house does sound like fun, though. :) I would like the ability to make my own room and put whatever I want in it. Maybe once we've figured out more, we can start building something.

We have a bathroom, but no one really uses the toilet. I like the bathtub.

We have a living room, and when you're "around the front" you're in the living room. When you're "fronting" you're in front of the big window. More than one person can sit in front of the window. Other windows can sometimes be openned up from anywhere else in the house as well.

Toilets: Why wouldn't we? Fronting: How we do it

Bathrooms: On Laura, the toilet is usually in a different room from the bathing place. The toilets are vacuum drifts (high tech) or chemical toilets (low tech) and everything gets purified and recycled, but it's still a toilet. We're people, we have our own bodies there, we eat and drink and shit just like anyone else.

Like some other people on this community we have a gateway system and our world is a definite place.

Most of our people never front at all, and don't want to. The way we're set up, someone is always at front, and other people can wander up front and join them. One can front from just about anywhere on Laura, although people like to use the KSOL air studio so that they can keep track of both worlds. People might be back a bit from the front, hanging out in the studio (like people were saying, "the town square," "the living room", "the porch" or "the sunroom") -- watching and commenting on the action without participating. "Backseat driving".

When there is something in the earth world that a lot of people back home want to see, it'll be ethercast back to Laura and picked up on Newsnet (CNN) or one of the public entertainment channels.
