We want to apologise; we left for three days to visit family, without having appointed someone to keep an eye on things in here in case something happened. That's our responsibility.

Shiu of sethrenn volunteered to be backup admin, but inasmuch as sethrenn are our spouse it might appear to be favoritism on our part, not to mention making it look like we were pushing a particular agenda, since many of sethrenn and we share similar views.

Again, I would like to take our case to the readership; would you mind Shiu as backup admin, or would you choose one from among you?

don't apologize for going away.. it's okay.. I just wasn't expecting it to get as out of hand as it did.. I realize that it all wasn't directed completely at my post and that some of the tensions came from elsewhere, just sucked that it happened where it did..

I wouldn't mind having more staff members, if that's what you're proposing..

Very little of the discussion we saw had anything to do with anything you said. The offenders posted to your thread possibly because non-members can't start new posts, only comment to existing ones.

There will be an assistant maintainer; our only question is, does anyone object to Shiu of sethrenn being that assistant, due to our relationship and similarity of views? If so, would people feel like suggesting someone else? Perhaps we should ask this question in a separate post.
