How many here have age-sliders in their system? Just curious, because I'm starting to think that Amariyah might be one.

*raises her hand* We all age slide to one degree or another.

Two or three in here, I think.

We have a couple of age-sliders, actually.

Once, we thought it was just the kids who age-slid around all over the place, but one of our main fronts does it too. That was rather quite odd when we discovered it.

turtle is our resident age-slider. she goes from 2 to 8. technically, i age-slide, but it's a mimic thing. whatever body i'm posessing is the age i take. so currently, i'm 17. but inside, with no strings attached to anybody, i would say i'm about 23/24. but it's all a bit subjective, really. especially when you consider 67 year old men in 17 year old bodies.

It is hard to say... Crist-Erui has always sort of seemed to be roughly the same age as me; when I was a kid, he was a kid too. Duathir, on the other hand, was definitely older than me when I was a kid, already grown up, and now he's definitely younger; I "passed him" somewhere around age 35. I have no idea what's up with that.

We have one here. He shifts going from pre-school age to late 20s according to what part of the mindscape he's in.

As I understand the term, I slide all over the freaking place. Sara, another member, switches between 8, 15, and 16. You wouldn't think there'd be such a radical difference between 15 and 16...

Everybody else seems to be stable.

We have several sliders.

Feral, one of the main fronts, slides from 6 to 12 (but is usually slightly older when co-fronting).
Slave slides from 15ish-16ish to 18.
Daleri is a slider too, her age varies a lot, from about 8 to 18.
Mad Dog slides from 15-19.
Jordan slides from about 12-15, and recently as old as 17 or 18.
Rhydan has used the body age for so long, but she's usually anywhere from 20 to 25+

AC might, but she doesn't have much of an age identification in the first place, so damned if anyone else can tell.

Nova says that she's nine -- that seems awfully arbitrary to me, but then I suppose everything about age is arbitrary. Clementine is simply very very old. I've decided I don't mind having our body's age, and that probably seventeen is an accurate description. As for Sláva, I think she imagines herself around my age. Anyhow, general categories -- "kid", "body age" -- seem to be more useful to us than numbers.

We have one that I'm aware of, though she's not little. She slides between teen and adult. We also have a basket-load of half-wild feral kids that I've never even been able to count, so it's possible there are more age-sliders among them too.

Doesn't sound stupid to me and I'm glad to explain. An age slider is a person in a multiple system who can get younger as well as older.. moves back and forth between two or more ages. You could be twelve one day and twenty the next. It can be a matter of choice or situation.

In our system it's the frontrunners who tend to age slide, and they're also the ones who tend to stick to a certain base age like Andy's 22 most of the time and then slide back and forth from that. Rather than adding a year for every birthday. Like Andy's birthday is coming up Feb. 14 but unless he decides differently he'll still be 22. Time is funny anyhow.

I have a few littles who love getting older and revel in the birthday. They are the ones who get the pressies :) this year they're getting one of those cool diaries that only unlock at the sound of your voice. May is a long wait, but they count down the months every year :P
I love my littles. I've been working with my gang for 14 years now, seven of which are with a great therapist who knows, recognises and loves all of us. we've healed so much through her gentle approach and loving ways.

The first person who springs to mind is One. She often slides between ages 10-15. A few more of us also age slide from time to time, but not nearly as frequently as One does.

i sorta do but then i'm semi-fragmented inside of myself. almost like some kind of wierd different sort of multiple within the overall system. still not sure how it works. i notice it but sometimes its more obvious to the others.

uhm. morgil age-slides sorta as well but mostly its just that /most/ of the time he acts much younger than his age. he claims to truely be 753. i'm still not sure what to make of that. O_o

Hmm....two or three of us are.
Beena seems to be, but I know she's the same age as me, she's autistic though so it's difficult to tell what age she is.
Lily says she's 14 but seems to age-slide between a very mature and helpful ten and a matronly fifty-something (she's my helper, she comes out when the rest of us can't or won't and the situation needs to be explained to my girlfriend, or when things need to be done and there are other people around who aren't aware of us all).
Sophie veers between 16 and 24. It's hell. She's really mundane and does NOT like the fact that I am Goth. The shops she drags me into...the looks I get...oy vey.

Shiori slides from 11 to 15, and her sister Hotaru slides from 9 to 12, but she's always younger than Shiori. Shi doesn't have any definite age...she's just "older than me" *shrug*

It has always seemed to me/Us that DID or MPD (or whatever you wanna call it) is really more a dissociation in TIME rather than a dissociation of PERSONALITY. (How to explain, how to explain? Frickin words.) Anyway, when I realized that most of my experience is easier understood as a wierd kind of time travel rather than a shift in present consciousness, it helped make sense of things. Really, most of my people seem to be simply living in different time zones.

If all of US (the system) has this ability to move around in time and that is what qualitatively allows Us to be what We are, then it makes sense that some of Us as individuals would also exhibit that ability.

Just a wierd thought.
