Dec. 20th, 2003 06:37 pmTrigger warnings? links to a 'healthy place'? People whining about their meds, their suicide attempts, their multiple diagnoses and all their pain?
Why don't we just name this group Twinkle Angel Pooh Bear's Happy Safe Hugfest for Broken Survivors of Bad Things and Their Inner Cute Chubby Kids Who Can't Spell already?

Ante Up, coz I'm about to CALL
Date: 2003-12-20 07:24 pm (UTC)You know, here's a thought, MAYBE, if the so-called "functional"s didn't spend their time shoring up their pathetically weak egos by calling someone who isn't quite at the point of their life where they can cope, the "dys-functionals", and essentially spitting on them so that they can feel better, because they can't even COPE with the fact that people who don't know them from a hole in the wall might compare them with Sybil.
Gasp THE HORROR! Are they calling you a child rapist? No? Then quit your bitching. Oh wait, someone can't whine that their father skullfucked their eyesockets, but, *whine whimper cry* you're being compared to Sybil! What? Call out the injustice patrol!!!
This is why We can't stand so many "empowered" multiples. As far as We can tell, "empowered multiples" essentially comes down to multiples who get their rocks off by acting all superior to other multis.
At this point, We don't care if We REACH FUCKING NIRVANA! We spit on the term, and have no intention to use it.
--Me (& Us)
(Who doesn't give a flying fuck if people I DON'T KNOW think I'm crazy, s'long as they don't try to fuck with my life.)
PS: Those of you who use the terms "functional" and "empowered" and aren't like that, you might want to have a talk with your idiotic brethren coz they pissin' all over your shit.

Date: 2003-12-20 07:40 pm (UTC)We'd love to hear how you're functional. Please tell us of this be-all end-all (and often quite arbitrary) standard of functionality. Coz I ain't met noone who calls themself functional (multi OR not) who wasn't full of it, and looking to thumb their nose at someone.
here's a thought: as a system we work with each other and do our best to function as a healthy/healing group.
hm, gee, doesn't sound very arbitrary to me ;-)
and certainly nothing i feel i need to be ashamed of.
