Hi. I just joined. I'm not a multiple myself, though I am interested in pyschology/mental illness and have read about it. I'm not currently in university, though. I may or may not have deppression or Borderline Personality Disorder.

From the way you describe the "please leave a message" moments as well as other things I'm almost certain that you are multiplicitous.
Try leaving messages in prominent places around your house to your alters, see if they respond. Poke around in your imagination a little bit, you may stumble upon another person. Whatever you can do to improve communication may bring you closer to co-presence, which is the first step to healthy multiplicity.
