Hello!

I've been lurking at this community for some months now--you only get to make a first impression once, after all, but you all seem like really great people, so I figured I might as well.

A little bit about me, personally; my name is Theo, or Theory. (Well, my birth name is Amber, but hardly any of my friends call me that). I'm a nineteen year old, and I identify as Soulbonder/Median, in that this body is mine; I was born into it and no one else considers it 'theirs', even when they front. Also, I experience no lost time or disassociation, and most of my soulbonds (collectively, the Coterie) can be readily identified from media sources. We are, however, at least partially a trauma-connected system, but nobody here is explicitly destructive, and 99% of them can work together and resolve conflicts peaceably. Nor are we attending therapy, though we probably should be, if only to have someone to confide in about said trauma. I won't bore you guys with that here, though, no worries. <3

The whole list--with far more detail than you might care to know--is in our userinfo, but a short introduction would include Griffin (of The Invisible Man fame), Dracula (predominantly of Van Helsing fame, not Bram Stoker's), Van Helsing himself, Renfield, Vex, Q (Star Trek), the Fool (of Robin Hobb's Farseer Trilogy), Malone, Quackerjack, Nicholas Angel, and an insource, Sam, as well as myself.

And since I've got the window open, I might as well ask a quick question of you guys, open-ended, of course. How many of you match, gender-wise, the body you affiliate yourselves with? I ask mostly because I'm female, with some exceptional gender confusion of my own, and yet the Coterie is composed entirely of "masculine" persons (even the two who identify androgynous and hermaphroditic tend towards presenting--to me, at least--a masculine sense.) I'm curious. If it's too intrusive a question, of course, please tell me so.

Anyway, so! Happy to be here.

~Theo

Q, Nicholas Angel, Quackerjack and Dracula?

Babe, i wanna be at the party in *your* head. :D

Anyway, I'm Massha, pleased to meetcha. I'm one of the two or three main fronters of this group. We're partially a soulbonding bunch as well.

I do, and everyone to come inside here (save one, and he doesn't LIVE here) has been female. The actual, factual residents are all female.

Not that I don't find genderfuckery to be fun... :)

Ahahah. I'm semi-similar median-ish boat...I'm female, Alessa who's been here the longest besides-me is female...
The other two pretty-much-permanent are male. One takes it with a sense of humor, but then, despite being quite secure in his gender identity (I'm not sure HOW), ...I know I'm a tomboy but he's girlier than I am.
Other is only recently recognized as -being- here aaand for now it seems to be the least of his adjustment-period worries. (When he's blendy it occasionally gets almost comedic...as badly as he bitches some mornings about little things like bras, I've teased/threatened to introduce him to high heels. It's about as likely as a flying pig, since I hate them myself, but still.)

Body's female, we're a really small group and I'm the first guy to be in it. I heard Soulbonders tend more towards opposite gender groups.

Our gender is difficult to name. I am male in a female body, and so are two of the others here (we number four in total.) The girl is female, to our senses. The boy and the child are male. We know however that gender between ourselves does not match perfectly to gender outside.

Oh, just shut up and give me the keyboard, will you? An entire lack of modern language is not going to help here...

Thanks.

Okay, in the land where non-words are allowed, Seb's a guy because I'm a girl, and I'm a girl because he's a guy. The difference isn't exactly major - we're both pretty androgenous. We wouldn't want a male body, but we basically add up to a male mind. It suits us. We're gender-messy and like it this way.
I'd say we have three guys and a girl in a female body, but the gender difference between us is a comparative sort of thing.

Allo! Well, we're all female except for Verna, Acid, and Camilla. Verna being a walk-in who doesn't live here. Acid being able to change gender, and Camilla being a tree...0.o

We're split about pretty evenly between males and females. (And then there's the smaller amount of people who either don't identify as a specific gender, or can gender-swap, but they're not a majority.)

The larger group of which I'm a part is about half male and half female, with a great deal of gender confusion, bigendered people, and a main front-runner whose gender doesn't match his physical sex. The more active members are male. I'm also half of a two-person group. Both of us are male.

I have heard what [livejournal.com profile] weirdiguess mentioned about soulbonders having opposite gender groups, but I don't know of any proof. If you're curious, you could ask in [livejournal.com profile] soulbonding.

Female body with:
2 asexual
7 females
1 intersex, leaning toward female expression
4 males

Wow. Normally we lean more toward male in our behavior, so I'm actually kind of surprised now that I took the time to count.

It does seem that most soulbond groups have more male members than female, and that generally, it's usually females who bond. Dunno the actual truth of that, but it sounds like a reasonable thing based on what I've seen. Everyone in here aside from me has an identity based in fiction somehow, but we're mostly female by ratio, and I am/the body is female.

We're a really big system, and the lineup is always changing and doing things none of us expected. I am, for example, a group of people who decided we would have fun if we merged and presented as one person. No one else in the system can do this well. They can co-front, but not merge, or integrate you could call it. So I am speaking for "myself" when I give the following head-count:

Two male, two female, and one trickster-type whose gender is currently male because the rest of us are rather feminine. We are in a female body. This makes it very balanced. I/we give a more feminine presence around people online because we get more positive responses that way. We might change it soon. In real life we tend to get called "sir" a lot because we look pretty androgynous. I was at one place today and the clerk referred to me as "person" and obviously could not tell what pronoun to use. It was fun.

So that is how The Webs are. The Links, who also share this body, can answer later. I'm kind of tired and fear I am not at my most coherent. I had to delete this comment twice because the first time I posted it as a reply to someone else's comment and the second time I forgot to change the userpic.

I'll answer for the Links. ^.^

There are far too many of us to give an exact headcount, but we have about six consistently active system members, not including Websy. Two girls, three boys, and one androgynous person who uses masculine pronouns and is pretty much male. Despite the Links having a greater proportion of males than the Webs, it's usually the Webs who get seen as male when we're out in public. I think it's because the Links (except Luc and I) tend to have high energy levels, and having a wide range of facial expression is usually interpreted as female. The Webs are laid-back and don't move much.

And as they said oh so long ago, we're pretty tired. ^.^;

More here, you might find this interesting/ useful (http://www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=multiplicity&keyword=gender+/+sexuality&filter=all)

Female body, aged fifty, predominantly male frontrunners for many years, most of the frontrunner 'regulars' have not been soulbonds, but several are soulbonders. Some of our soulbonds do front at times though. Right now I am the only fronter and have been stuck here for, well, too long.

Our body is female but those in our system who front are all male.

The body here's female, and we have a few people who are biologically female and happy to be that way. Then we have some biological males, who mostly freaked out beyond description when they turned up in the body, and then a lot of people (myself included; I flick between being a Kerry and being a Keiran) who are gender-fluid or unhappy with how they are. We also have people like Red, who used to be female and then got an op, but then turned up here, so when he fronts he's female again... gender-wise, we're pretty different.

Things are more or less even for us.
2 Female
1 Non-gendered
~2 Male (I'm only counting the daemonchildren as one, since only one "fronts" for their little group at a time, and they're all boys, anyway.)

Body's male, with about a 4:1 ratio of males to females. This system has fewer females fronting regularly quite plain and simply because we males tend to be greedy bastards when it comes to fronting. Couple that tendency with the intense gender segregation in Halial-Ken, and boom, you have the way the fronting works.

Now, our system has some of the MIF-body issues backwards, and this has led to some.....interesting disputes over certain issues related to gender. Certain of our females are more interested in fronting than others, yet often a male will just steal front from them. Interestingly enough, in our system, the first, and for a long time only, Christian was the first female person in our system.

Our body's female, the two frontrunners are female. We're also median-ish, for what it's worth, and we have bonds, of whom the majority are women with the occasional guy and one kinda genderqueerish person. We've noticed also though that opposite-gender-to-frontrunner groups are rather common with soulbonder systems.

The body is female but I, the original, am a transsexual meaning that I am soon going to undergo surgery etc. to change my body as close to male as is medically possible. We're a guys only group so everybody agrees with the sex-change although two of them freak out thinking about the surgeries. They know it has to be done but they get nervous about it.

Female body, and I, the original, am also female. Not including myself, there are thirteen females, twenty-one males. Er, roughly. There are some that I'm not counting, for various reasons.

Female body, but we're gateway, so we've got a fairly normal ratio, with a few more girls than guys (we figure it's evolutionary … girls can't get pregnant twice, but guys can make someone pregnant twice). Our fronting is evenly split, depending upon, although most people find us fairly androgenous (in person).
