Hi...

Thanks for having us...

We are a multiple household.  There are over 100 us and counting.  We are victims of SRA, and other severe forms of child abuse.  We have many different types of insiders... male, female, animal, spirit, and others.  It wasn't until recently we learned the terms 'walk-ins' and 'soulbound' for particular members.  We have members we refer to as age-sliders, they can change their age.  We certainly have many of those.  We live with 3 friends and our fiance... and 7 cats.  It is difficult, but with understanding people, it makes life a bit easier.  We try so hard to maintain our "front" to avoid as much confusion as possible.  Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt.  Several of us are in graduate school to become an LPC  (licensed professional counselor).  It is very scary, but we feel we have a lot to give back to the community, and hope to help others that have been through trauma and abuse.

yeah.. mostly just getting settled, the trying to decide if we do master's in religious studies or try for counseling degree first.. (that and how open to be on application and in classes)

For us, we had reached a point where we didn't want to hide it anymore. It certainly wasn't something to be ashamed of... So we waited about a semester, got a feel for the view on DID, and took the plunge. We have told several professors, and outted ourselves in a few classes. Definitly mentioned it in any personal papers... but we don't put in peoples faces... it is a delicate balance...

hmm.. *nods* a wise idea. about the only place we're .. closeted about being plural.. is at work right now (we work in support services for elderly adults with mental and physical deficits)..everywhere else, online, face to face.. we're pretty open about it.. so it'll probably be hard keeping quiet.. but we'll see.. anyway.. good to see we're not alone in pursuing counseling cert.

i hope this doesnt seem rude to ask, but how do you keep track of and remember all hundred of you?
i mean... i have trouble remembering peoples names and stuff in day to day interactions.
or is it different since you all coexist in one sorta space so you just know

We do a lot of System Mapping (Or have done a lot). That is why we don't acutally say... we know it is over 100, just not how much... and with all the parts that come and go, it is very hard to keep a count.

I know you weren't asking us, but a system we know have *thinks* probably 150-odd members now, and we have a good 50. We mainly keep track of everyone by remembering who they're related to or who their partners are. A lot of people in both systems are married, so generally you can work out how someone's related to one of the main fronters, which helps.

Anyone like to explain what system mapping is?
