Systems and astrology.

This is something I've been wondering for a few days. We tend to have a passing interest in astrology and horoscopes and the like.

I've wondered how different systems interpret these things, and what dates do you tend to go by? Do you go by the body's (legal) birth date/corresponding sign, or do some of you go by a date of your own - a date of first emergence, or some arbitrary date/sign not related to that at all? Ourselves... one of us goes by the body's birth date - I go by emergence date - the third goes by a sign not related at all to any sort of date, but by spiritual traits.

(Yeah, I know, a lot of people (be they part of a system or singlets) don't follow it at all, I'm just curious about those that do.)

We usually have our own dates. Pretty much 'made up'.

We do astrology as a hobby (obsession!) I identify with the body's birthdate, but then again, I am PROUD to be a Leo! Rhiannon knows her exact birthdate, and it was her day of first emergence. Gabby doesn't have an exact birthdate, but she always says she's a Gemini, which would have been sign active during the time she first emerged. Gage and Mickey both claim to be Saggitarius, which could sort of jive for Gage, but we don't know for sure, and Mickey we have no idea whatsoever if that sign ties in. But Gage at least has a lot of Sag traits, so whatever.

I'm not real sure about anyone else right now.

Oh wait, Lynne's a Cancer! She does show a lot of the traits, but there's no way the date could jive right, unless her first emergence was pre-natal? O.O

The girl (the original person of sorts) uses her original birthdate which is in Taurus while I follow my "old" birthdate, which is in Capricorn.

Not all of us have birthdates that we recall or anything, but we might in the future. I just happened to remeber mine from also looking at stuff about astrology and seeing what fit me since in my original universe, astrology fit more easily.

A few years ago several in our group spent quite a bit of time researching the history surrounding astrological signs here. It's very interesting. Some did decide to match sign traits with their own traits to come up with personal birthdays. I had chosen Saint Valentines day as my birthday long before Kalli had told me I matched with an Aquarius. Some of the children chose dates they first posted an entry online as a birthdate here.

This body was born during the sign of Sagittarius. Quite a few fronters in the past have said they connected with fire. Tej Agni in particular. Most of the members of Tej Agni seem drawn to fire. Except for Butterfly. She says she feels drawn to air, but she also says she's not sure if she should be in Tej Agni or not. They welcomed her into their group so she wouldn't be alone.

Astrology and Astronomy are favorites for this group. Kalli and several others are very interested in these topics, cosmology in particular. They have taken astronomy and astrophysics classes in the past. Again, good topic.

I LOVE anything celestial! Some of my magic is based around celestial objects so I study them all the time. Years ago when we lived in California I had some classes in astronomy and we would go to blue canyon for star parties! I loved it so much. One time I went in the winter up there and it's a mile up. I wanted to see the orion nebula because it's a star nursery. It was so cold that I swear my hands froze to my telescope. Hee! My telescope is in storage now because we haven't finished moving to our new place but I hope to use it again. I've seen variable stars with it and jupiter's moons and comets and messier objects everywhere! Back home there is a huge observatory in the center plains region and it is connected to the space station and to the Mansion. There are terminals in all the bedrooms so any one can turn on the observatory channel any time they want to and watch the celestial activity. I love my home!

The main four who are splits off the original all seem to fit with the body's astrological sign pretty well. They're pretty much all Geminis, and all very tied to the wind/air elemental. For everybody else it's not as certain a thing. Some people have picked birthdays with signs that are nowhere near who they are.

We use Western astrology mostly, since that's what we were raised with, if we know our birthdays and times by the Earth canendar. For everyday stuff we check at least the Moon signs (http://www.amazon.com/Pocket-Astrologer-2007-Eastern-Time/dp/0930356721/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/002-0809628-7888813?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1174602228&sr=8-1) to find out what days are good for what kinds of things like doctor appointmtents or new undertakings. We've been doing this for ages and were surprised to find Neil Young does this also - plans things by the moon calendar.

Laurad astrology is different (for one thing, there are four moons) and we have not yet brought a lot of that up front except for some of the constellations.

Our Chinese "soulbonded" friends (soulbond is really not the right word) have got their full charts (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_astrology) of course.

we got birthdates assigned to us ^^; and the active ones are 'required' to age, so there won't be a huge gap between the age of insiders and the body's age.
... in other words, the leader wants us (me?) to be ashamed of our own age if we don't develop mentally T__T

we choose the sign/ birthdate though, but not the year for the above reason.
