i was just wondering...

how many others here aren't quite human?   i mean, i know it happens, but-  i'm not human.  i don't know what i am.  heather drew a really nice picture of me in our journal (as soon as our furniture gets here, i'm sure she'll scan it and post it somewhere).  but does anyone else here have non-human features?  also, does anyone else experience a relatively smooth front transition? heather, ceri, and i have no problem switching around for some reason.

I'm half-elven. We also have two vampires (who used to be human, but aren't any more, obviously), and alien and a unicorn.

And yup, we switch through fronters quite easily. In fact, it feels more like gliding in and out of place than real switching. Probably because we co-front a lot, and just shift the mental weight around.

Almost none of us are human, but have no distinguishing features which would mark us as alien. The differences are primarily cultural. And we have always generally switched very smoothly, with rare exceptions. You're not alone or unusual on this community, there are lots of people with your experiences.

The majority in our group appear to be human, but aren't. Some others have non-human features. There are a few who were once humans who lived within their own separate physical bodies but somehow ended up in our group. They are the minority.

Well I don't know what it is about lj lately, it doesn't like us posting comments it seems, deletes them all the time, so one more try.

None of us consider ourselves human, but like Nick said for most that's a cultural thing, although there are a few exceptions where the differences are in appearance or ability.

We all switch with ease and smoothly. There was a time when we were trying to do the denial thing when we used switching as a reason we weren't multiple because everything we read and everyone we talked to was telling us it had to be difficult and painful.

No human here. The two of us are both animals, I'm a dolphin and Michael is a raccoon. The body may be human but it just doesn't fit either fo me. We've also picked up a fox as a soulbond lately.

Only one other fronter here and we tend to change out pretty easily. It doesn't tend to happen for us without warning, though.

We have quite a few non-human or partial human members. One is a wolf, two are able to shift into deer forms, one is what we call an Enigma who is something of a shape shifter, and another is some sort of shadow form who isn't quite human. So really, only two of us are fully human.

I'm all too human in spirit, but our system does have an angel in it at the moment. Not in the Christian sense, more of the general celestial sense. In the past, we've had cats, dragons, demonkin and an artificial being as well.

Of the four remaining, the three of us that front tend to be able to do so seamlessly in short bursts. Long-term, on the other hand, that smoothness degrades.

Im a dragon child! Nobody knows where I came from one day I just was here with my mom who is a dragon too and I liked it here so we stayed. There is a girl here who also has a wolf form and another girl who is angelic. There is also another species called "darks" they are like humans, only sometimes angry humans hehe Im not sure how to describe them. I never come out here alone but those who do seem to switch fairly easily as long as the body isnt sick or over-stressed.

Hello there! I'm an alien myself. I take about three or four different forms but I stay in human most of the time because my headmates appreciate it :)

The three fronters here have no problems switching either! Sometimes we do it when we really don't mean to.

Wish is half-elven (and says the other half isn't human); Myriad is a shape-shifter who usually takes on angelic or fae forms; Malice sort has some demonic traits; Jade is either an alien or a genetically engineered super-being (maybe both).

As for switching, it usually isn't a problem, except for doing it without meaning to!

As for the non-human-ness, my insystem SO is a demon (Though he doesn't front that much.) we also have a couple of catgirls and a few anthro cats, as well as others who have no clue who the hell they are.

Shardae your name is pretty. I have dragonfly wings and I can fly with them. Most of my friends aren't human but I never think about it much. My teacher is elven from another place. Most of my friends in Tej Agni are angelics but that is only the word they use from here. They are called something different back home. Sweetness is human. She's my best friend. Amirah and Amalah adopted her and are her mothers now. Little Kal is with me and she doesn't have dragonfly wings like I do. She came to me a long time ago when I was first learning magic. She is younger than I am and very cute! My teacher told me Little Kal could be an unborn essence I awoke while trying to use my magic in a certain place. I think he means I might have disturbed some one who was sleeping and hadn't been born yet. Little Kal might have been a soul that was never born or was supposed to be born. I don't know really. I love her even if I don't know where she came from. She helps me to balance my magic when I use it. You don't know what you are? I don't either. I just have the dragonfly wings. Why do you think your not human? Do you have different things like wings or some thing else?

Most of my facets are human...ooorr something "close"/half that. The first one I consciously recognized (which was one of the "longest-running-this-life" and loudest) was a phoenix. With the screwy scale I've got (I'd be more of a Median system in multiple terms or "Facetting" from the Otherkin lexicon), Crystal-Star-Falling's one of the ones that caused a bit of a "what...who the f*** am I now/how much of me comes from them?" identity crisis a couple years ago ^^; So ironically, for all that she's one of only a few total nonhumans, she's hard to pick out specifically just b/c so much of her's part of "Birdy". (-.-; Hell, she's how I GOT that nickname.) Mrf. Technically I don't have very jarring transitions, but I'm not really "switching front", so much as shifting weight between facets that're loud - the few times sleep dep/alcohol/medication/etc.'ve caused an actual identity change...the "me to them" was jarring, but the blurring back was pretty slow/gradual, and I suspect the "jarring" was just that it's not -really- normal for me.

Ooh, that describes me fairly well, too. I tried to explain it once as "It's not so much "who's fronting at the moment" as "whose influence is dominant in the blurry-meld-thing at the moment", but you described it better.

Though there are a couple of people in here who are very much separate, their own distinct beings, etc. - but they never or almost never influence the "front" directly.

None.. ok.. almost none of us are human.. Angelic, Demonic, Dragon, Gryphon, Fae, Elven, shifter, and not a frapping clue what else.. think if we really pushed like 1% of us count as human.. maybe..

Switching.. is usually fairly easy.. especially if we're working on something.. and then the viewpoint will change and just have to do a double take and figure out we shifted.. if we fight it.. or something harmful causes us to switch.. then it could be bad.. but usually it's fairly easy.

Yeah, dunno really what we are...I'm sort of orientated to heat and stuff, and Ser to crystals and pressure (the name, yeh ;-D), but we're effectively human...I don't really believe in much fantasy like stuff,angels and things, but each to their own. Personally, I reckon that we're just shaped by our own self perceptions.

Shad and Rachael here are human, but blurry between their own places and the shared mindspace. I guess we all sort of are. Sun looks like a dragon, but again, its more a perception thing, I reckon. Don't think he's an actual real-life dragon X-D

No problem really sharing here, but we don't tend to 'switch', though we try a bit. I can sort of hijack stuff, or we influence each other or whatever. It works somehow, and its generally smooth. I dunno, we can get a bit blurry afterwards though.
