I'm curious. It seems, from what I've read going through some old posts, that a large percentage of the systems/groups/whatever in this community are in a physical body that's pretty young.

How old are you? And how old are you internally too? We're pretty much all my age, which is 28, except that our Guardian seems to have gotten stuck around 13, which is when it was formed, so that makes a kind of sense, though at the same time it's ancient and ageless, being an archetype of wisdom. (Think something like a "child oracle" I suppose, but looking more or less like the dragon in my icon there.)

I'm 28. The body is 22. We have children, teenagers and adults, and some sort of ageless beings.

Ash is 29, and so's the body.
I'm not sure how old I am, but I guess I'll say "21" like usual :)

A majority of the fronters are younger than the body's age. Though there are quite a few who are older than it too, but they don't front as often. Henna is around 3,500 and Adam is like 5,000. There are some others that we don't know their ages because they are either Angelics, spirit guide, a dragon form, a deity, or some type of Planar who all don't rely on ages.

I'll add to our above comment. Myself and Kesiah are both just over a year old (technically), but we appear to be between 15 and 19. I think that in our group most go by their apparent age, so even though they said Henna is over 3500 years old, she appears to be in her 20s. The same with some of the children. Their ages are usually based on their appearance, such as Kalli being 9 years old, but being here with the body for a great deal longer than that.

So to answer your question (Butterfly is laughing at me) when we give our ages, it is based on apparant age and not actual age.

neither male or female in a human sense? "without gender" perhaps? Or maybe Guardian has a gender that is different than male/female, or is beyond a gender. Some in the spirit realm that we've communicated with will sometimes tell us they don't have a gender as we would understand it here, yet at times they appear to us in a gender that they feel would match them if they were physical. Gender here on earth is only for creating children and everyone has to be either one or the other, in most cases. Though the mind-gender doesn't always match the body-gender, whether a body was plural or not.

I understand what you mean. :)

Yes, I've wondered this as well. Never found anything in English. Might be easiest to find a term like this in another language and co-opting it for English. Preferably something that's short and easy to remember.

I've considered doing this myself but I almost never need to use it. Our "Flute" hasn't been around much lately.

I'm 28. Our system has one ageless member, and the ages of the others vary from not even 2 months to just shy of 60 years. Technically speaking, one of our members would be over 800 years old, since she was born in the early 1100's, but since she doesn't remember existing through all those years, she generally gives her age as 32 (even though she looks 18 - it's quite complicated :P).

Body's 20. I'm 31, Selene's 130, Chloe's... uh... mid teens. And Lu we call 20 'cause it's easiest, she's lived in the body since it was born. She seems to vary wildly between "older than dirt" and being more like some kind of animal cub. Don't think of it as age sliding, just her personality/mood changing. And I think it's normal for her kind to be pretty child-like no matter what age they are (That sounded pretty weird didn't it? Yeah...)

Gorgeous icon, by the way.

The body's 13. Then I'm 22, but I act much younger sometimes (blame my boyfriend :P), th others are mostly mid-late teens, and Ataelis is 350-odd. She doesn't rely much on age at all, but that's how old she is in human years. Apparently, that's pretty young by the reckoning of her race.

Forty-nine, and I know we aren't the (earth-body) oldest community members. [livejournal.com profile] skylarksoaring are 66, and [livejournal.com profile] nansvision are about our age.

Our current frontrunners range in age from sixteen to, um -- he's not saying :)

The body and the main fronter are 23. So am I. Another is 31, and then there's one whose age just doesn't really accurately describe her maturity. She seems to be mature for her species, but very childlike in mindset. It's easier if we think of her as a child, turns out.

Body is 51, infants, toddlers, someone aroung 8 or 9, some teenagers, age-sliders as well as some where I don't think age applies in any way and ancient ones. I don't think anyone here at this time is actually 51 though there may be someone who is maybe in her 80's or even 90's. It's not uncommon for other people to think the body is thirty something.

We don't... usually give the body age out very often because it's one of those things that people will judge you on without realizing they're judging you based on it. But the idea of what age says about maturity is so relative. I mean, the extended period between puberty and adulthood in Western society nowadays is kinda anomalous, historically speaking; so when someone says they consider someone of 18 to be a child, my reaction tends to be confusion. Because... 'mature,' where I'm from, myself, means you're married and have children, etc, same kinds of things it tends to mean here; except that tends to start around age 15, where I'm from. And someone can be young and handle some situations better than a lot of people twice their age will. And it's also completely possible for someone to be hundreds of years old and entirely lack certain kinds of common sense.

Our body is 22, and... well, Johnny's gonna kick me for this, but I've always had the habit of thinking of the body as mine, so I call myself 22, too. Johnny's 17, measured from when I first met him. But age is a funny concept, and anyway we're starting to suspect ourselves of agesliding.

The body is 23. Mindy, Janessa, and I are 23. Leesha and Meghan are 8. Hope tends to stay around 8 or sometimes younger. Christine tends to be around 16 or 18. This year Janessa decided she wanted to age normally instead of staying around 21.

Those are the main people fronting right now...As for the rest of us, we range from toddlers-20somethings, mainly. Some of Us are reincarnated, we do believe; but we've never gotten an answer out of them as to how old they are.

Body is soon to be 25. I'm already 25.

Morgil is nearly 800 years old but that's apparently pretty young for an angel. He's grown up a lot since he showed up.

Kat is around 17. Oddly, she's been with us since birth as far as we can tell but seems to age at a directly proportional rate to our body. If I think I'll remember what the rate is...... 1/2. She aged normally until the body was around ten and then began aging at half-rate. Strange I think but it works.

We also have a construct who is I guess 5 years since she was created now but she doesn't age and was made to appear around 19 or so.

The only remaining Other worth mentioning is Flute who is inconceivably ancient from what we can tell, but has the mentality of a mostly re-acclimated to civilization, feral-child younger than 10.

I suppose that's about it currently. There used to be more Others but some have faded, one integrated, and a few more just left.

Interesting question, thanks!
