Umm I don't know if this is really the sort of thing to post about, but David said to go ahead and see.

I've seen people post about their 'systems' and the environment in which they operate. Ray has always been very much in MY world. It's like we should have been twins but there was only one body and I got it by virtue of being 'born' first.

Anyway, I'm not good in social situations. I've always been rather introverted and shy. I like people, I like parties, I'm just no good at the small talk, mixing thing. Being a vet at Christmas and New Year David gets invited to a lot of gatherings especially New Year and I go along. In the last three years or so people have accepted us as a couple. Ray always 'fronts' he's good at mixing and small talk and a bit of a flirt with the ladies, which has led to some funny and not so funny situations.

When he's fronting I feel like I'm watching my body operate. He holds himself differently to me so *I* seem taller, he makes hand gestures, is much more confident and David says his language and speech pattern is different to mine, though voice and accent stay the same.

I wondered if any one had a similar experience?

When one of mine is at or near the front I tend to hold myself differently. I'm pretty shy and introverted as well, and hes a lot more confident than I am. He walks differently than I do as well. I normally just kinda shuffle along with my head down, staring at my feet when I walk, whereas he walks straighter, with his head held high.

I dunno about speech patterns.. but one night when he was at the front, some friends of ours noticed right away, based on our body language and the way we were talking, that he was at the front.

Yes, this is essentially how it is for me to not-front as well. Liliane carries herself differently, she moves differently and speaks differently. She makes weird gestures and lots of pop culture references. When she met my girlfriend she kept beeping her on the nose (a reference to the end of Dogma). She smiles way more than I do. And last time, she had a soft British accent... she was just as surprised as we were, lol!

Yeah most of us use the body differently in at least some way. The longer we spend in it the more we seem to 'bend' towards what is normal for the body. I think because the activities and physical condition of the body affect anybody so they adjust to it with time.

Auroch is much more confident, suave, manipulative, and cunning. He is also significantly stronger and has a lower heart rate (I have a heart disease).

The people with whom we freely and openly switched have all reported significant changes in body posture and movement. They also say that the facial features shift subtley... but enough to notice a difference.

I know that when Indigo fronts, I can feel her particular facial expression, the way the forehead smooths out and the eyes narrow, so this makes sense to me. Much of anyone's appearance is dependent on how the soft tissues of the body are tensed or relaxed.

Though, once a friend of mine reported that the eyes changed from our nomal blue to a yellow gold. I have no idea what to make of that.

and yeah.. our eyes have changed.. from body's normal blue to amber wolf eyes.. yeah that was an intense night.. (and the person who saw this didn't know we were plural)

Wow..... I have been told that our eyes change sometimes, especially in my case. Do you think there is a logical way this could happen?

*shrugs* it happens for us a lot.. and at least a few other houses we know..

what is it they say.. "eyes are the windows to the soul" .. so if the soul changes wouldn't it make sense that the eyes do too

Sure. There's singlets whose eyes change, too. Eye color isn't like paint on a wall, it's got depth to it. If someone has an in-between color like grey or hazel, it can sometimes look different depending on how the light hits it, how blood flows through it, etc. Since personality affects emotions and emotions affect both posture and blood chemistry, it's reasonable for eye color to change when switching.

*nods* Had it happen. It's mostly small mannerisms, or facial expressions. Sometimes, my speech pattern changes. To me, those small changes are quite evident (probably because my mental image of self changes with them), but either the people around me don't notice, don't care (I have a rep of being strange) or don't tell me about it.

The way they move, the way they speak, how they deal with a lot of things, all changes. Isn't as dramatic, gather they're a lot more similar than they used to be.

Sure. Body language and vocal mannerisms.

And lots of groups don't have subjective or "inner" places, especially when it's just two or three of them.

we honestly don't really know. Some of us move differently and I'd suppose the body's voice might change but unless we were recording ourselves and then played it back to watch, we can't be sure. Because if some of us aren't at the front when someone else is, then how would we really know what happens when we're not here? But I'd assume that we do. We know that Damara has an accent and Sweetness whispers to herself.

I've noticed that some of the children change the body's voice when they talk. Henna holds her tea differently than I do. Kalli sits differently than I do. Various others walk differently than I do as well. I have noticed these things while co-Fronting with them.

Roz has noticed things that the rest of us do when we get out, such as Jamie's accent (that's a major one) and Aaron's tone of voice. Catherinne has a tendency to use medicbabble which Roz wouldn't usually know about.

Apparently I'm pretty hard to spot. It doesn't help that no one has any practice, but the differences are usually pretty subtle. There was one fronting session where I guess I ageslid to about nine - I'm sure that would have been obvious if I'd met anyone we knew. But that's only happened once. Usually I act a lot like Rob, except with slightly different jokes and word choices.
