I'm more disturbed by the fact that the child may be being abused. But that's just me.

As an outside observer, we have no way of knowing whether what's being described is dissociation or something like multiplicity. I think it's only fair that he be evaluated before anything else. If there are no signs of abuse (physically or mentally), only then would I be bothered about any 'forced' integration.

Maybe it is because of my, uh, differing origins, but I do not understand why this is disturbing. Maybe other archetypes just manifest earlier? I did not manifest until he began acknowledging his true nature. Perhaps the child is simply more self-cognizant than mine is.

Oh. That' not what we found disturbing at all. It was the comment below the post, the one about excorcism and crosses. Sorry to confuse you there. We were plural when we were four. I f we've confused anyone we're sorry.

Nope. Just the bit about excorcism. If there's abuse going on then they definitely need to see some one. I just hope that if their isn't then they don't go see a shrink because then they might, if there is a they, be thought to have schitzophrenia or something.

Blood-in-the-Fog was actually rather amused by that stuff. Being an archetype-spirit who identifies himself as a 'demon-ghost', it struck him as terribly funny. He/it has an appropriately phukt sense of humor.

No apologies needed. Fog is fairly new compared to the rest of us and he-it hasn't yet adjusted to sentience yet, so there's still some bugs to be worked out, especially hisits grasp of human foibles. (Like all yang-realm spirits of his type, he originated as nonsentient motes of symbolic/conceptual emotion, meaning, intent, and so forth, which, as they built up in one place, growing more and more in volume without being vented off, eventually began 'sticking together' and eventually accumulated enough 'presence' to be self-aware in hisit's own right, albeit inextricably bound to hisits 'source', that being Me -- that is, the I we are collectively, not me, one part thereof. He's the only part of us that isn't essentially a puzzle-piece from the original whole.)

I thought the exorcism part *was* a joke? Albeit a stupidly-done one.

But, like someone else said, I'm more disturbed by the concept that the kid being plural, if he actually *is* (as you can rarely really tell at that age) is seen as something wrong with him and something to be fixed.

Ditto...And this is seen as bad...Actually, it kind of shocked us that the child was assumed automatically to be multiple instead of "just pretending" like kids do. Make sense? I mean, when we spoke in differing voices around our baby-sitter we were thought to be just pretending. Then we found out that that wasn't what the norm was and so we simply stopped for fear of being different.

Exactly... that was how we could get away with it for a long time, and there were also times when we *were* playing (when we spoke in different voices and so forth). That was acceptable when we were young, but as we were older, people got "worried" (I think it was when we were about six when that started).

Mm-hmm. Nods. Sounds about right, only our mom encouraged imagination and still talks to us as people. Thank God/s Our former baby-sitter however------Who is like a part of the family--depression scares her so bad we haven't even THOUGHT of coming out.
