I'm really stretching out on a limb here...But I don't know where else to ask.
How do you know if someone's really been abused in the past or if its all mental delusions?
Dizzy is...not well.

Edit:
Dizzy's begging me to delete this, but that's not going to happen. So I suppose I'll at least give a bit more information.
I'm not sure if its from Dizzy's life before she got here, or from the host's life, and Dizzy isn't sure if its real or not. She just freaks out at random and them refuses to talk about it. But it seems this has happened before, all triggered by some thought of (sexual?) abuse.
So, second question...any idea how to help someone who doesn't want to face the past?

Usually if it's trauma based, they won't want to face it. It's part of not only normal human denial, but also trauma based DID. It was created by the fact someone could not face what they were getting into, or having done to them. I'm a victim of SRA...and believe me, I went to great lengths not to believe it. I screamed and kicked the entire way, but as memories started coming out, I thought I was going insane, literally. Between that and the missing time and sometimes the voices... When finally I admitted what had happened, I felt better. A bit depressed and very scared about what had happened, but it was like a light had come on somewhere. Generally if there's been abuse, there will be eviddence of some sort. If it's really weird stuff though, with little to no evidence, look up SRA...it's Satanic Ritual Abuse, you can't get much weirder than that.

If it's delusions, sometimes the best person to help out would be people on the outside. I had to distinguish fact from fiction (not easy, because there were delusions too), and I had a wonderful support group to help me through that. Still do. I'm poly-did, I won't go much further than that, but there are several sorts of DID, and if you look from a scientific standpoint, trauma based is one of the most common place...at least, around here it is...

Dunno if this helps. Hope so.
