Does anyone feel like the body they inhabit is just a multi-use 'host' body... so to speek?
Like you're grand central station and spirits/souls come and leave often.

I've starting to beleive that is body is just a host - that it no longer belongs to just one person..... but is like a medium.

We have had many different souls here - some that come and leave, some that come and stay..... but it seems the body can't keep only one being here - there's usualy three or more here at one time - even if they're not the same as last month.

Just wanted to question - see if I've gone crazy.

Oh, we get that. The body serves as a sort of hub station for travelling people; a gate into this world. This body is owned by a single person, but others use it as a sort of...computer terminal. Like the world is the Internet and the body is the computer, with different 'user accounts', to access it.

Yup.

I was born in it, I've lived in it all the body's life, and it's still to me pretty much just a vessel. It's important because it's how we present to the world in general, but it doesn't really belong to anyone, though we say it's mine for ease.

I thought that's how it pretty much was.. that's normal for us..

nope! lol. just thought I'd be the devils advocate in a manner, here. Though, really, I can't say. we're pretty much an all inclusive (unfortunately HUGE) system, and most of us can trace our origins back to the first 'splits'
but then, there are also those who can't, and even won't. like Shadowalker and Ghost who have been around since the body was born, before anything like 'splitting' ever occured, but have NEVER been children (god I hate that word, split, but no other word I've found works either)
not to mention, we just all live in this really vast house, with portals to other areas so to speak, but we get the sneaking suspicion there's a HELL of a lot more outside these safe walls we've created for ourselves, that we're just too scared to look at. At least right now. And those of us who don't come from the system itself that we can determine, aren't talking. *shrugs* oh well! it never gets boring, anyway :p

Why "unfortunately?"

We say: "If you have enough problems, they start solving each other."

mostly because it can be so dreadfully difficult to keep track of. also because we're dating with another multiple, which is wonderful because we don't have to share *laughs* but it also leads to people getting grumpy once in a while if they don't get to see the person they're dating for a long time. There are simply not enough hours in a day for a system our size to give everybody the kind of oppourtunities they want to live life and enjoy it. So we co-front a lot, and there are a lot of folk who will live out their entire existance completely inside the mind, by choice or nesessity. It's not -that- bad really. We've become very stable, and we rotate time out so everyone gets a chance when we can. Damien is godly and somehow manages to keep everyone happy and not fighting over it. We'ed be lost without him, I swear.
wow I ramble. time for ramen! *scrambles to the kitchen*

Bigger internal landscape. We have lots of people who rarely, if ever front. In fact, I'm sure there are a number of "system criticals" that nobody near front has met. >nods from various<

More than enough reality to go around, entire worlds to explore - why argue over one particular interface? :P

Just out of the package or
with frozen peas
or shrimp from a can
or shaved frozen steak
or broccoli
AND cheese
or an egg

sometimes crunched up and boiled until near dry without flavor pack and then dump in canned soup

SNOW PEAS!!!!

But just the way they come is almost always the best.

Not crazy at all. Especially when the "original" is pretty much incapable of fronting anymore. The rest of us are having the keep the house up in case they ever decide to return.

You're totally not crazy, me and a close friend of mine were just discussing this yesterday, there isn't much more to do on an army base than discuss perception. But anyways, I and one other was born to this body. And while I grew at a normal pace, he was ageless and ever constant in apperance. But with walk-ins and species, it's definitely developed into a gateway for different beings to come in, use, and then leave if necessary. And those who I've ended up giving part of my soul to, to complete them...I guess they're stuck a little.

Hinata Inn! (just kidding, a little pun for love hina fans)

But no you aren't crazy, as you can see the thoughts been crossed by many.
Yours truly,
~Kira

Things are pretty much that way for us. The "origional" is dead and long gone at this point, so much trauma she had suffered. We also belive that we were born multiple since there are at least 2 others who have been with th ebody since birth, however they also come and go to their "homeworld".

We as a group tend to see the body as a vessel - it doesn't 'belong' to any oen person or group of people; it is a shared resource and a shared interface point between the Inner World and the outside...is that what you mean?

I suppose we are quite different on this matter.

We have a single Hostess, who was born with this body and who, at all times, is known to OWN the body. For the most part, it's simply the twelve of us. The Hostess was born into the body; Mel came in soon after her. We each have kind of just...settled here, knowning we're free to go at any time. We have one regular wanderer; used to be two, but Earlene decided to rest her weary bones here permanently.

While we do understand the train station analogy, we just don't fit it. We're more of an old inn; a little run-down, mostly filled with regulars and the occasional travler or two, with the bar-wench always in control.

well, one thing not mentioned, maybe for a good reason? is the idea that people/spirits/what have you, actually do come and go...sorta a shamanic reality that cross-pollinates with whatever it is that makes a multi a multi. In our system things sometimes become very chaotic, often because of what might be considered "psychic" abilities, or not having good boundaries on a spirit level.

I don't think having a revolving door is the best thing in the world, but unless the "new" guests are destructive it's probably not a horrible thing either.

Oh. Also if you have some sort of internal/otherwhere connection it may be simply that people emerge or retire to that area, which the external memory may not have awareness of.

Sorry if this is so confusing I have a lot of sorta half-thoughts on the subject and don't seem to be someone who is good with words at the moment.

Oh, and we've had people we thought had gone reappear sometimes older or otherwise changed.

That's a fairly wise idea those checks...one of my friends has a sort of border patrol and immigration checkpoints for their system.
