yeah, we were just wondering, if any of you out there (who are not bipolar or with some similer imbalance in your chemicals, no offense to those of you who are) have days where you're totally hyper, and happy, and cheerfull, to the point that it's scary how happy you are, for no reason at all, then turn around later in the day or evening and go totally the other way to where you're depressed and moody, and ready to cry for no reason at all.....

We're having one of those days, and it's confuseing and bothering us....*sighs softly* anyone have any ideas what's wrong with us?....

Sure. :) I think everyone does from time to time. If you're a teenager they're hormonally mandated. :-)

For us as adults, when we had a lot of days like that (the crash at the end) it was often due to our diet. Having three relatively balanced meals (protein + good carb + fruit/veggie) a day and a healthy snack midafternoon helps to prevent the crash. Oddly enough for a lot of people, not eating breakfast, or eating a high sugar/white flour/no protein breakfast will cause a crash in the evening, regardless of what they ate for lunch &c.

My housemate's mood plummets when he needs to eat - he gets irritable, off-balance, easily upset by things he'd ordinarily ignore. He usually doesn't feel hungry, though - often he doesn't want to think about food at all, so it's hard to recognize the fact that he needs to eat whether he feels hungry or not. Once he does eat, his mood returns to its usual cheerful state.

Maybe it would help if you started keeping some fruit, crackers, etc. handy so you could have a small healthy snack when you find yourself feeling blue. Of course, your mood-swings might have a hormonal component as well - if they generally happen at a certain time of your cycle, you could talk to your doctor about it and see what can be done.
