Dec. 28th, 2005 01:03 amSo, I've taken it upon myself to introduce the system, since the kids can't seem to get straight what they want to say. Kids these days, honestly.
We're currently a system of ten, with two current walk-ins and a random drifter who stops in just to chat. He's a sweet old fella', really, but that's not the point here.
We like the word "host" for our main front, and I'm betting we're more-or-less alone in that. To be fair, she was here first. She's Otherkin, a dear of an Elf (sort of, but that's a long story), and we just like to...give her some importance, I guess. Even the Dragon respects her, and that old coot doesn't respect anyone but itself, really.
Other than dear Kris, our system includes a cyborg, a pretty little fairy-boy, a fighter pilot, an absolutely adorable little girl (not more than four years old, I'd say), a Bard and a Dragon, a sweetheart of a little Japanese priestess, a hyper kid, and me. I'm the gramma of the system, literally. Don't quite know why I've settled here, but I like it. Besides, Sue is nice to be around.
Our walk-ins are a couple of little Irish ladies, one of which is giving me quite a nasty look and wanting me to make it known she's a...druid.
...Well alrighty then.
I could ramble on about us all night, but I reckon I'll leave it be. I don't get to front very much, since I somehow manage to make every bone in the Host's body creak, but I do enjoy the occasional jaunts out.
We don't have much to contribute at the moment, but hopefully soon. I can't speak for the kids, but I know I sure look forward to getting to know some other people. Between keeping up with babysitting duty, of course.

Date: 2005-12-28 10:00 am (UTC)Not entirely alone. It fits for us, too, though we tend to think of our 'host' as a 'gateway'.

Date: 2005-12-28 10:53 am (UTC)No, we use it too. Though in fairness we discovered the online otherkin scene first and picked up a lot of terminology from there, before finding the multiple community.
I myself am an elf (of sorts) as is

Date: 2005-12-28 12:43 pm (UTC)Now it's just a habit, and to be honest the only one who uses it is Isha, who still seems to see it in the hostess/guest way for some reason. I gotta fix that, somehow.
Oh yeah, I'm a dragon, she's a vampy, and Chloe is just scary :D

Date: 2005-12-30 06:45 am (UTC)That is how we tend to use it, yes. It is her body, and her life. She is simply kind enough to allow us a place to stay and rest, and occassionally free play in the physical realm. Of course, as a Dragon, that does get on my nerves occassionally. The body is simply not what I am used to, and I continue to be shocked that I have no tail. :grumble:

Date: 2005-12-30 06:47 am (UTC)Last night, for instance. The Host's current lover came in...the body had passed exhaustion, and our littlest member, a four-year-old girl, was fronting for sleep...he didn't realize it, lifted up our shirt, and started kissing and licking a particularly sensitive place on our lower back...
Poor Sue got quite a shock, and screamed as she retreated. It took nearly all day today for Virginia to take care of her...*chuckles*

Date: 2005-12-30 06:49 am (UTC)I'm...the only one in the system who DOESN'T like the use of the word "host", but only because the Hostess isn't a Host, she's a HOSTESS. If that makes any sense. Yeah.
I think the Bard vaguely doesn't like it, but he's adapted and whatnot. ha.
