I can't feel anyone else very strongly.

Maybe it's the hematite ring -- I've heard it's good for grounding, but this is ridiculous -- or maybe it's the 10mg extra of Celexa that Doc L wants me to take. I'm up to 30mg.

Either way, this is not pleasant.

If your group has been communicating up to now, it is very unlikely that a gemstone would have such a major effect, even if gemstones do possess any supernatural properties.

My guess is that your difficulty would be caused by a combination of the stress you are under currently and the medication you are on, which is designed to numb the mind and emotions.

As such, if you were in fact sensitive to the psychic emanations (if any) of gemstones, the medication would be more likely to render you insensitive to its influence.

Medications can affect communications in weird ways. Antipsychotics are notorious for reducing or destroying communication in multiples, but all kinds of medications can do it, even over-the-counter drugs-- we once had our communication cut off by an over-the-counter sleep aid.

Why did your doctor want you to increase the dosage, and is there any way he'll allow you to reduce it again?

*grin* So does she. (We've been watching the new series, and Cally took a shine to Kara Thrace.)

I wish I'd thought to watch the original...

We watched a few eps of the new series. It's okay. Like the original much better. :)

My bet's on the Celexa. Psychiatric meds have a rep for killing communication.

Tell him you're having stomach issues.

Seriously.

Celexa gave me an ulcer, as well as hypomanic cycles.

so... either of those work. ^^

You can also tell him you're concerned about driving and/or can't focus on school/work.

I'd say "I don't like the way it makes me feel, and I don't want it anymore" - don't know if that would help though.

Keeps urging me to give it a go; maybe she's right, but if she turns out to be wrong I'm ditching it.

..I've not only been groggy all day, but our already-spotty memory is worse.

In that sentence change 'our' to 'my', and that should do it. Feeling like your're walking around in a fog, or somesuch, tends to be considered a highly undesirable reaction.

It is, and we've been told give it two weeks. After that, we might have to go back down to 20mg (which seemed to work okay) and work through external issues first.

Hematite's strong stuff, gemstone wise, a lot of people have a headachey reaction to it. It's a pity, because from a gem lore point of view it's very useful, but some people simply can't get too close. I get that from big geodes of amethyst, so I've a fair idea what it's like.

Oh well, it reminds me of her work anyway. If it is, it's an older piece that she doesn't seem to have on display any more. :)

I was real into stones and crystals for a while and there healing properties. We had a hematite necklace and our instructer told us when it fell off and broke from our neck , it had acheieved all it was suppose to do and was no longer needed.

Its that same therory for all stones is they stay as long as they need to and if you have reactions to them you dont need that property.
Just a theroy though, Blessings Joanna and Elaine

We had a gold ring once that we found in the dirt. We kept it for years, and when we sensed it had done its thing, left it on a chain on a tree in the yard. When we came back, the chain was still there but the ring had disappeared...

We used to have a hematite ring. Racking my brain to try to remember who insisted on wearing it and who hated it and what happened. Gah, come on.

Narda loved it because it kept Luned from coming out at all. Narda was created to protect Luned and she hates her. Hate is too strong a word. Resents her. She will willingly protect a lot of others of us. Libby and Roger more or less have to take over protecting Luned, or else - heaven forbid - Lilith/Babilon comes out and does it, and her system of ethics is... one none of the rest of us agree with.

Anyway. Hematite is strong stuff. I don't know about Celexa. Prozac screwed with us big time though.

And Narda hates rose quartz. It makes her feel naked.

Thanks we were looking for our charts on stones and crystals and this is much better. We once got a pink qaurtz causet he guy selling them said it would help for reproductive problems and we had a tumor on our ovary. ( the crystals cost a fortune ) but it one day fell off and busted in a millions pieces like sand ,we scooped it up and went to get our money back $70.00, and the guy explained when the body is healed the stone will break off and the tumor was gone, Weird huh!

Thanks for the link:)

SSRIs are the bane of our existance, honestly. Mindy has PTSD and major depression, so she wants to take some kind of medication to even out. Celexa was the first thing that she tried and it made her all wonky and the rest of us very ill. Most of us were too sick to speak to one another, so maybe that's your problem? In addition, we mostly communicate on an emotional level; usually with pictures and emotion pulses to comunicate with whoever is fronting. We very rarely use words. Since the SSRI messes with emotions, it's my pet theory that it was retarding our ability to send each other messages this way.

Mindy is all about that New Age stuff and geology. You might want to talk to her about your hemitite ring. She is [profile] ambersarchives. I'll have Chris mention to her that you might contact her, but please don't mention multiplicity (she's touchy about it, and not a lot of people on her LJ know). She'll probably end up sending you a bunch of her stuff on gemstones! :)

I hope you guys feel better!

Medications are really personalized. My friend swears by Celexa, but it made me manic when I took it. I guess [profile] garden_keep gets sick when I take anti-depression/anxiety meds. Overall, it'll take you two weeks to a month for your body to adjust to the new intake of medication. Usually the doctor will ask for you to come in again in a month to make sure you are doing alright on the medication. I'm not used to this whole multiplicity thing yet. I'm not really attached to my group - I can't really communicate with them too well. Is there any other way you can contact your people? Are they able to front and write down/post how it is effecting them and/or if they are ok?

Now stones are my personal favorite! Hematite is a grounding stone. It connects to your root chakra (muladhara) and grounds out excess energy. People who wear it too often may become depressed, though. I'm unsure as to why you're wearing hematite, but far be it for me to judge. You know what's best for you. :-) If you think it's blocking communication, you might want to counteract that aspect of hematite by wearing/carrying a piece of blue lace agate or turquoise. A cluster of quartz crystal is said to encourage a sense of community. And as a sidenote, mahogany obsidian to ease a variety of mental issues, such as depression, anxiety, and overall stress. It is also a gentle grounding and protection stone. You mentioned above that you were stressed.

Hope everything goes well for you! Take care!
~Mindy

We attend RCC right now, since it's a lot cheaper. Mindy was a geo major for a while, but she couldn't hack the math. I think the only one of us good at the stuff is Meghan, and she's 8 years old. We might find a weekday to go grab a bite at that sushi place at the UV if we had some company, though. :)
