Instead of Grocery shopping we Checked out purses for fun

 Since I was finally awake for real and not as fevered as usual after Church we wanted to do something  to make us feel organized.

We have for 20 years had a rule  "a womens Purse is  sacred and her own" . But today we decided to play (Lets see what ya got in your purse )and organize.... and maybe we'll even find money .  OMG  we had so much fun with the ladies I found so many things I thought were gone . the teens would not let us in there purses . So the Moms of the family our of course suspicious . 

We all checked out and traded lipsticks and perfumes and blushes and glosses . We decided to do a trade or switch 1 irem each in purse and to see how much we had in common .  There use to be a time I tried to keep one purse  and pack for everyone . No matter how big the purse it would be bursting at its seams .  When co frontoing we carry three purses to work ,2 inside a back pack .

We had a blast . I highly recommend this on a Sunday afternoon  or night , we collectively collected in pennies $43.00 YAEH !  We discovered most of us love altoids  and cininmin anything and Orbit gum winterfresh , most of us like berry or mauve pink color lipsticks except Toni who loves bright red and corals .  I found a wallet our daughter Sarah made in Camp when she was 11 out of laether and cord with a Twenty in it  in Markey's purse she did not know she had.

We found our purse calanders and put together our schedules .  Tons of Keys to God knows what . Shelby says old cars and old candy bars( we threw away,cause knowbody knows when they were bought )Interesting pills in containers we threw out. Fun  photoes we havent seen in years. What intreaged me the most was all the earrings we found and pins and pieces of paper with phone nimbers on it .  I highly suggest this + the kids loved it the Guys rolled there eyes and felt superior at the ability to leave the house and survive with just a wallet .

 

 Were all going to share the lipsticks and wallets and key chains . Next were moving on to coat pockets for change to see how much money we make. And what we find . I'm still looking for a ring.    Peace Tiea

I cleaned out my purse last night. I have a ton of lip gloss that everyone likes to use. Ranging from flavors like cherry, to watermelon, to "sugar splash", and a thing of Carmex! I organized my license, insurence cards, ATM/Credit cards, school ID, library card, etc, into a small change purse so that I could slip that in my pocket while at work so I don't have to bring my entire purse with. I also had a glasses case, retainer case, my car keys, some "R U IN" mints, with enough pens to supply a classroom of students! Receipts piled up in there somehow as well. I'm not a big make up person so the lipstick and all that stay at home in the make up bag we have. One thing I do have to throw in there is some medicine for migraine headaches so I don't have to wait and suffer until I get out of class or work.
Now, it's all orderly and cleaned out. The only other person who uses a purse is NC, and she's typically pretty happy with what I have in mine.
Of course, the guys think we should just use a wallet, which I did for years because I hated (and still sorta hate) having a purse but with all the little extra stuff NC and I aren't happy with the idea of not carrying a purse anymore. I've also just gotten so used to my purse I would constantly feel like I forgot something if I didn't bring it!

If it were just me I would not use a purse either . But as you said there are these odds and ends we need If I dont then someone else does . We are in awe of the guys being able to just use a wallet. I do confess I am a lipstick gal I just had no idea till tonight how many of my sisters were buying glosses and lipsticks so similar to mine had I know a vote would have worked well .

Also it is helpful to know everyone likes cinimun and orbit gum . Yep we had tons of pens , pencils , marers and a pile of recieipts We have it nailed down to 3 orderly purses now It was fun though .

We for sure have a pac rat on board with saving reciepts though .

Hi this is Toni ,

In our family we have 16 year old Elaine, and 15 year old twins Shelly and Kirsty and 13 year old Kerri they all want "Sugar Splash" now Ha ha This kills me as we love it too, but we lost the cap and it messed up last months purse and Markey tossed it thinking the teens would not notice .

On the magnetic post it board in the kitchen everyone has written down out of the $43.00 we should buy "sugar splash" tomorrow and "Peaches & cream" and "French Vanilla" .

Elaine is going on and on about being old enough to drive FINALLY and the twins are complaining about how they never get drive time in for there permitt so they should take turns driving . Teens can make drama out of such ordinary bliss . Marty and Joe both in there early 40's just stomped out of the room , But Joe told the girls "dont waste your money chicies guys hate that crap" He kills me . Its kinda nice having men around to get there opinion on what were wearing and Lip gloss issues .


Its also nice to have the guys do the teaching of driving . Cause I dont have the patience anymore . Elaine and I have to talk tonight she is insisting she wants to drive to work tommorrow and I dont need the problems of bringing along a non co runner while working side by side the T . The T would notice Elaine instantly and God knows what he would do regarding whats been going on .ARGGG

$43.00 in pennies? @_@ Wow, that almost makes me wish we had a purse. We've carried just a wallet since high school-- that was actually an idea started by the girls then, since they didn't usually wear makeup and didn't like to carry around too much stuff at once (we tend to lose/drop things)-- although we do find interesting old receipts in it for stuff we forgot that we bought. Saving pennies can be useful long-term. We once helped someone sort out a giant basket full of pennies and put them into paper wrappers, and then lug all of it into the bank the next day to deposit. I think we had close to $60 in change counting the nickels and dimes we'd also wrapped. The bank lady was doing her best to be very patient with us.

Weird scary stuff turns up in our backpack. We once found an apparently fossilised candy bar in the bottom of it, as well as half of a donut or cookie or something that someone had left in there after eating part of it, which disintegrated and left a big mess of crumbs. There was also some strange blackish sticky glop once.

There's still some debate about what it was. Some people think it was a piece of gum that someone tried to wrap up after chewing it, and it fell out of its wrapper. Another theory is that it was some kind of lollipop or hard candy that melted. Others think that it had nothing to do with any food item, and probably came from somewhere in R'lyeh.

Yowser we were wondering why a couple of purses were getting so heavy ...It was the darn pennies !. We have a jar for our change at home but had no idea we had so much change in purses. Few nickols too., Now instead of going to a bank you can go straight to the Grocery Market with change and turn in change in the change sorter machine ( I love this thing and the kids are mezmorized by it .) It gives you a ticket with the balance . This is what we did tonight . I would have been too insecure to take it to a Bank , no matter who went with me , The whole gang could a been with me and I still would of been insecure even if it was rolled .. I 'm like that ..."Like a sorry for holding up the line "

We found a couple narley stickey hardened snicker bars too. I was appaulled , totally grossed out and ashamed :( . Still looking for the RING ... We have also moved onto Book bags and Bags in general.

We took a ring off at Church about 3 months ago and pocketed it or put it in a purse or Bible bag or Book bag so the search continues .

Its raining in Rochester and this is the only thing we can do as a group that all are finding fun except the teens... there bags and purses are being tightly held onto which is making Mamma Toni very suspicious .... Hymmm wonder what the rebells are toting around Last time we checked we found a roach from 1985 when we did occassional pot to even out at night before getting diagnosed. Now that was a blast from the past . Now were allergic to even that and it gives us headaches thats the bitch about autoimmune problems it plays havoc with allergies one never had before . Like after years of being fine were lactose intolerant and cant eat shell fish eihter and inncense burning can kill us . Damn our backpack and yours must be related. I just cleaned mine out now school is over, I swear it's a portal to another dimension.

We have an issue with one of us that hides food. Got her to agree to not hide anything perishable, but it is strange to reach into the bag for a pen and come back with a tin of apricots

Miniture liqaor bottles

Definatley realted we use to pull out figs when we were goi ng through a healthy eating stage then cereal bars than we went down hill and started with snickers and Peanut butter cups .

We had a couple with low blood sugar and a couple that just didnet believe in spending money for ,lunch at school so would pack the oddest stuff when we weren't looking.

One time and we still dont know who as a joke packed alcholol cause my birth name is Tiea Maria we had a mini liquar bottle of Tiea Maria ammeratto and we did not mind that . It went straight in our coffee at school and we headed to the cafateria for whip creme too , and shaved chochlote and cinnimun .

That could have become a bad luxurey habit so we ended it , but we saved the miniture bottle cause its so cute and melted candles to make it a pretty miniture bottle for a special memory .

Its on my dresser where everyone can see it . the kids love to play with it . Its still a conversation piece ! Peace Tiea

We have a backpack that everyone uses, and which we try to keep in order. We rarely leave the house without it, unless it's for taking a walk or posting a letter or something like that. But we also have a large number of small "emergency packs" containing anything from the usual writing utensils to shiny mirrory things or miniature books, and even a battery-powered metronome (against the once-frequent loss of an inner sense of time/pacing/rhythm in overwhelming environments; it had headphones so no-one else heard it)! It may be fun to go through them, although I don't know how many there are and I'm a little afraid of what we might find...

Hey thats a great idea ( emergency packs ) we could get this down to one bag and find a purpose for all these little bags we have been accumulating by individualizing them for each of the co fronters at work and the occasional kid home sick we drag along to work . Hymmm .

Thanks you gave us a great idea . We have a bunch od Diabetic zipper packs for there machines, a friend that knows were plural gave us thinking we could divide are stuff up and we tucked them away . Also Darby buys those glass cases that look like small purses .

We could tuck away pictures . Doc cards appt cards purse calenders a pen , marker pencil, lipstick, mirror , a daily dose of meds and be done with one bag . By the way we love your icon . We like anything remenicsent of 70's physchodelic or mosaic ish, stained glass is a favorite. . We are working on are very first stained glass mosaic ever , its a whole different experience the material being much more fragile . And well Sharp

Your Pic reminds me of looking in a kalidoscope we love those things , That was origianlly going tlo be are name something kolidoscope ?? Which reminds me for I dont know what reason , we have to keep a couple benneie bag toys for the kids . Anyone but us still collect beannie babies ? We need another house for all of them to reside in. Yep I stood in line to get my now 24 year old daughter a cabbage patch doll too when she was two , but secretly I wanted that darn doll almost got malled getting it $ 65.00 later wehad one under the Christmas Tree ha ha Peace Tiea I am in a race before I fall asleep again with all the stuff dumped from our book bags . This would be allot of fun tonight for our cat . There comes a point when one is cleaning out when it is all in chaous and disorder and this would not be a good time to lose energy Music we need music.

We know someone grown-up (partially!) who still collects beanie babies, and they also talk about needing a new house. This is one reason why we don't collect them... We lost one beanie once (we have three or so), and it turned up in one of those little packs; we forget what's in them, so they become time capsules.

We decided to do a kaleidoscope icon because in the beginning that was a metaphor we used for our plurality; kaleidoscopic brain wiring, repeating patterns we decided to call people. Sometimes switching feels a bit like that "click" when all the little thingies fall into their next place.

Most of us are content with the wallet. It contains money, our military and driving IDs and various cards and photos. Usually we'll leave the house with that, the cell phone, and the keys. I don't get the whole point of carrying around a purse... a few other women in the system have purses they'll use sometimes, and the two littler ones use the RyoOhki backpack or the Luna-P purse.

We have a TON of purses though, hanging on the wall, from impulse buys. I'll bet they have some neat things in them, but I'm scared to look XD Ah well.

We just cant do that and we collectively refuse to use a fannypac those are a fashion No no . Unless your stuck in line at Disney World we never understood those things ..

Mindy keeps stealing pennies from her friends. People don't care about pennies so much, so she just takes them. She calls it her "marriage fund" but keeps on emptying it out for whatever reason. We finally dumped out all the change from our piggy bank and found we had over $19.00 in change!

My favorite lip gloss is Burt's Bees Cherry. Mindy likes the regular Burt's Bees.

We're going on a trip this weekend, so we're trying to clean out our wallet and purse so we're not encumbered with stuff! It doesn't help that Mindy just tosses random stuff into the purse, and the kids sneak all their dolls into the purse when we're not looking. Haha!

Hi , I love your icon ... its so spring like ( Its pouring here in Rochester and getting dark early Ick) well if your little one keeps grabbing pennies you could have a fortune for her Wedding sooner than you think . Burts Bees Lip Gloss is Toni's favorite too . its been a while since I bought it for her orshe splurged . The kids also love Cherry .

Our kids dont smeak Dolls so much anymore as beannie babies ( cause there so small ) Its not so bad cause so many adults collected them for a while , I can get away with it if one or two fall out of my purse Ha ha .

We don't have either a purse or a wallet, which I guess is odd. Most of the time we put our driver's license in a pocket and everything else goes into the backpack. Which can get heavy. Even though the body's female most of the fronters are male, and the other main female front besides myself is very tomboyish so we don't wear make-up or anything like that. And I guess I'm glad of that, because that would be a pain to tote all that stuff around. :) I do, however, buy flavored chap-stick and lip gloss and the like, but that's about it.
