is it just us, or is this community getting spammed a bit?

the last three entries in it don't seem to have much to do with why it's here... -_-

and, just so we're not complaining ... a question.

we went to see a new shrink on friday, and got put on depakote. is that going to affect anything, function/system-wise?

thanks.

Definately with you on that...

The tone of the brightly colored ones is really...it reminds me of a Trauma survivor, like...right after said trauma...how they ramble and speak in run on sentences...

The other one...yeah.

It seems they don't know which journal is which? In their personal journal they address communities... and it seems they make the community their personal journal. O_o

I don't think so, the thing is is after "apologizing" for their entry to someone, they went on to say that no one commented on anything they had to say in their post...

Course...that's just my opinion.

dude i don't even bother with colored entries - they annoy me. let my lj style do the coloring for me or fuck off, right?

wait, can I say that here?

man I don't even know the rules.

Hey... I seem to recall that LJ has some option that lets you impose your own journal's style on all the entries that you browse or something like that... does anyone know how to enable that?

It forces comment or journal page layouts to appear in your journal's style, but it does not strip formatting or images etc which are present in the actual post content. So the large colored fonts would still appear, just the style of the journal page they're embedded in would be your own.

I use it to force all comment pages to use the "default" style since custom style comment nesting often screws up in larger threads.

Well, that's just the tone I get from it, thanks to it's compleate lack of punctuation...on and on and on and on and on no stopping.

I've...got no real trauma, I just like to make observations...

My system is trauma-based, and some of the other members have written similar things, but it's all kept private. None of us write for an audience that I'm aware of.

I find it disconcerting, like a cry for attention. I do sympathize, and the community rules don't exclude such posts since they do have to do with multiplicity, just a different kind of it than many people experience.

disclaiming: i certainly don't want to hurt any innocent person's feelings. that being said

they seem a bit like trolls
especially when they said they thought they were typing in black or white but the entry itself said "favorite color red".

i need to know for sure because a girl in our system [livejournal.com profile] scarlettekitten decided to be friends with and try to help them after we got an email from them saying they didnt understand lj at all. If you go look you can see where she answered on one of their posts explaining things somewhat. Yet they still dont seem to understand. We do not want to be rude or anything to an innocent person/people who really just dont understand. But the longer and the more i read the more *i* have a bad feeling and dont want scarlette to get hurt either. If they really are a social worker.....i mean it just doesnt fit to me. Scarlette is confused too and doesnt know what to do now.

Our contribution:

-I don't even know what depakote is. Look how out of the loop we are. 'lol' Wish we knew what to say about that. Sorry.

In reference to the community being spammed? Our varying ideas on this:

-As to the drug post, we think that's probably valid. We've actually had people ask us a similar question before. We're glad that people responded so well to it.

Now for the funky colored posts. We think the following may be true in this case:

-this person/system is desperate and confused, and they are being inconsistent about the reasons why they posted in the way they did because they are currently unstable and having a hard time taking responsability for their actions.
-this is spam. Someone's been reading too much trauma-based-gaga-googoo crap and is bringing it here for reasons I can't fathom

Word.

I don't think they're trolls, but I *do* think they need to, uh, reevaluate the way they're posting.

man that's what I'm sayin.

Depakote will make you bloat, likely, and that's really all. Depending on what else you are on. Did you give your rap list to your new doc? Better check it.

Good luck on your new pill.

Any drug can affect how your system functions. For example, we had a lot of problems with allergy medications.

Have you tried locally made honey? About a teaspoon daily works wonders for my/our allergies. (Probably specific to pollen allergies, though.)

We mostly just use coffee. Drinking something hot is very soothing and the caffeine acts as a vasoconstrictor.

Mindy's ex boyfriend was on depakote. He was bi-polar and had to take it to help him stabalize. He said it made him feel numb when they adjusted the medication, and was pretty manic the rest of the time.

I'm not sure how it would function on the rest of your family though, since drugs tend to be a pretty personal thing. Good luck with it!

Depakote is an anti-convulsant. It was originally used to treat patients with epilepsy. Recently it seems to have become popular as a mood stabilizer drug. Some patients who took it for seizures have reported feeling tired, zombie-like and numb.

It has been linked to birth defects (http://my.webmd.com/content/article/98/104650.htm), so you should avoid it if you are or planning to become pregnant, and some preliminary studies have suggested a possible connection to hormonal abnormalities (http://www.psycheducation.org/hormones/Insulin/polycystic.htm).

Any drug, even an over-the-counter one, has the possibility to affect in-system communication (we once took an over-the-counter sleep aid that messed up our communication for several days). It's best to do your own research on any drug before you begin taking it-- besides the list of 'usual' side effects, some people report unusual and idiosyncratic reactions to certain drugs. Some therapists will coerce you a little in an attempt to get you to take a certain drug. I don't know what your therapist is like and I'm not claiming they're doing this-- just that people should know that such things happen. You should make sure you know how to stop taking it at any time, in case you have a bad reaction to it.
