We've made contact, kind of. We have a name at least, and we're trying to get to know her a little better. So that's 3 we've found so far: Myself, "Psycho" (who I wish would give me a better name), and now Alli.

out of curiousity... are you always this cynical sounding or is it me? i find this ... attitude or whatever you call it quite irritating so thought i'd ask if its me or is it the way you come across.

I come across this way the majority of the time. However, most people don't seem to find it annoying.

Well, I'm trying to learn more about Alli, but I'm not having much luck. What I have figured out is that she seems to have some SERIOUS communication problems, which would explain why I've had so much trouble getting anything out of her before now. But it's a start at least.

Watch for twinges of interest. We've coaxed some of our shy folk out by learning what they like. Foodstuffs, music, TV, scents, art supplies, that kind of thing.

One of our kids loves a particular stuffed animal. If she's feeling unhappy but won't communicate we go and hug it - it seems to make her happy and she'll usually tell us what's going on then.
