Hmm. Bit of a controversial question perhaps.

What does anyone know about integration? NOT the forced "everyone needs to be one" sort of integration but spontaneous, natural integration and also temporary intregration or anything of the like.

(While I have heard that most integration is non-permanent anyhow, this isn't quite what I mean but having a hard time figuring out how to communicate the thought better, forgive me)

I wanted to address this question to the entire group, because I've heard a few complaints and remarks over the last few months-- not a huge amount, but enough that I thought I should ask about it.

Be honest: apart from dealing with people who explicitly break the community rules (flamers, trolls, etc), do you feel that I or [livejournal.com profile] ksol1460 censor or discourage particular topics in an unfair way? Do you feel that your own opinions are unwelcome here, or that the discussion environment is repressive? Do you have any thoughts on how you feel certain things should be handled?

I try to make a distinction between disagreement with people's opinions and disagreement with the way in which they are stated/phrased. I more often have a problem with the latter than the former, but I want to make more clear what my problem is with, if I'm not doing a good job of that. I also make a distinction between multiplicity-related issues and trauma or general mental health issues, and would prefer if posts strictly concerning the latter be kept to forums where these are the main topics. However, if someone has a problem which involves multiplicity in some way, I don't want to discourage them or make them feel unwelcome posting here.

As some people may know, it's National Novel Writing Month, and we're participating. One of my friends has been suggesting for a while we write a book set inside a multiple's inner world, so that's pretty much what this month's goal is. The actual story is in three parts:

One: Two main characters, travelling through a land, with no memories of where they come from and only the vaguest idea of who they are.
Two: Real time, "real" world, a young Christian girl from a conversative family begins to think she's been possessed by demons.
Three (and the end of part two, in a sense): The whole system learns to come together and co-operate.

Very cliche sort of thing in some senses, really, but oh well. At any rate, we're writing part two now and it's driving me mad. Not only is the main character completely BORING, causing me to move the plot forward earlier than we'd planned just so I can make her REACT to something, but she's now deciding she wants to confess her possession to her pastor, resulting in an exorcism scene. Which isn't going to be that fun to write, really. We've never had it done or anything, but the whole demon thing can be a really touchy subject, we have at least one inside who's quite like this girl (we actually named the character after her, Tian thought it was ironicly amusing). So, yeah, I've been researching it and stuff. In one sense, though, I guess if I do it justice it could be quite a powerful mini-climax.

At the very least, I want this to be okay enough that if we end up showing it to people it will make them think. Even if it is trauma-based... maybe next time we'll do something with a natural system :P (Either that or the book about the guy who knows he's in a book and hates the readers. One or the other.)
