I'm thinking I'd like to do a story on natural and/or functional multiplicity for one of the courses I'm taking in school right now. (I'm studying journalism.)

Problem is, I'll have to change my topic if I can't interview anyone. I could possibly do it by email, but face-to-face would be best.

Is it possible that there's a system here that lives in Calgary, Alberta?

It's doubtful anyone is going to be willing to meet a stranger face to face in order to share personal details. You'll probably get more response over email or asking questions in here.

I know some systems who might do something like that. Last I checked maintainer(s) of kinhost.org have the website on their resume, and are very open about the topic.

Precautions like not coming alone, letting people know where they are going, and meeting someplace public, can be taken.

They aren't local to him, however.

Meeting in a public place for an interview is SOP for journalism, though... this isn't any different from that, if you think of what he's doing as a human interest story in the Features section.

Consider email. You'll also be more likely to get more than one system's experiences that way.

You can't use unnamed sources? What happened to "deep background"?

We could not give you an interview under those conditions. Very few systems could.

What if you were interviewing people who'd been sexually assaulted, or others who for whatever reason wanted to keep a low profile? What is your instructor thinking?

Everyone here says it's OK. my email is bizamoogie@hotmail.com Just a friendly warning, I am not a conventional multiple. I think they way things work in my system aren't the way things work with a lot of people here in this community.

You can interview me/us by phone if you like (we're in Ottawa). I don't think we qualify under the natural banner but we do under the functional. :-) You can email me at shandra_lemarath at Hotmail if you like.

do you need more sources?

We're game. And someone above said they weren't conventional multiples or something like that. Well we aren't either I guess. But is there really such a thing?

I don't know if you still need sources, but I think we're good with giving you a name provided you use an alternate in the article. So if you still need people, feel free to drop a line.
