I hope its ok to post this. I was given a Book and CD titled I hope you dance. Lee Ann Womack sings the song... after my last post, I happened to pick the book up and look at it. I got it for christmas and hadn't even opened it yet! Needless to say... the book is awesome (its more of a sort of poetry book) and the song is beautiful... I was hit hard by the words... and I wanted to pass them on to you all.. I guess this is what I wish for all of us....

I Hope You Dance

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder,
You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger,
May you never take one single breath for granted,
GOD forbid love ever leave you empty handed,
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean,
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens,
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance,
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance.

I hope you dance....I hope you dance.

I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance,
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Livin' might mean takin' chances but they're worth takin',
Lovin' might be a mistake but it's worth makin',
Don't let some hell bent heart leave you bitter,
When you come close to sellin' out reconsider,
Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance,
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance.

I hope you dance....I hope you dance.
I hope you dance....I hope you dance.
(Time is a wheel in constant motion always rolling us along,
Tell me who wants to look back on their years and wonder where those years have gone.)

I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean,
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens,
Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance,
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance.

Dance....I hope you dance.
I hope you dance....I hope you dance.
I hope you dance....I hope you dance..
(Time is a wheel in constant motion always rolling us along
Tell me who wants to look back on their years and wonder where those years have gone

Hey yeah! We've seen that before. It's used in a public service announcement on local TV!

That's one of the songs I am singing in my choir at school. It sounds wonderful, especially the basses and the tenors singing the harmony in the background. *melts*

Thank you. That is one of my favorite songs. Every time I hear it I think about all I have to be grateful for, and all the things I have left behind which have been for the greater good.

Bright Blessings!

I think you probably already know this, but there is a journal at most bookstores with this song as the main theme of the entire journal. It's a really beautiful journal. You should find it. It says "I hope you dance" on the cover.

I got that journal for my sister for her birthday. I just recently re-connected with her. She is not in very good shape. I was trying to show her that she has permission to be alive and happy for her own sake.

It is a beautiful journal and she cried.
