[identity profile] echoes-world.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] multiplicity_archives
Rawr! I'm just full of questions and random energy. Have a big day tomorrow... should go to bed, but yeah... anyway, my question.

Do you think it would be helpful to put up some profiles about each of the people Here, and if so, where should I post them... on the actual LJ, or here on this community or both?

Also, how do you embed the link that allows you to cut down all the test and just give it a name you can click on? Er, ok that sounds ugly ... the quickest example I can give is Katscratch's last post on this community. The link is entitled "Insanely long ramble of how the New World Order has come to be."

Just wondering because it could definitely be useful.

Thanks!

Sounds to me like you're talking about an LJ-Cut. There's an expanded section in the FAQ that you'd probably do well to read (I know almost every time I have to do a cut, I have to wander back and find it again). You can find that here - http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=75 (http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=75)

The short version is that to do a cut with text (assuming you use the html editor), you include the following in your entry BEFORE the text you want hidden:
[lj-cut text="Read more"] where the []'s are actually the greater and less than symbols, and "read more" is your text to cut with.

Sorry, it must've been answered while I was typing.

As to profiles, I don't know. I/we mainly lurk here most of the time, so .. yeah. Lots of people do a quick intro of their headmates as a community post, so that's definitely allowed. I guess it's really up to you & yours; what you're comfortable with, really.

i've been thinking of introducing the others officially, too. there's no harm in it. if you feel like you should, then please do.

we'll do it together. ;)

We did our intro in our journal, and linked it in our profile so that people can see if they want to. You have to be on our f-list though XD.

Plenty people introduce themselves, plenty people don't. Can't remember if I've introduced myself or others or not as it would've been a coupla years ago if I did.
