[identity profile] 20splinters.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] multiplicity_archives
This body has posted for help with various issues before, and I do apologize if this specific issue has been posted on before - one of my weaknesses IS short attention span!

Basically, I'm a VERY strong member in here, and the only way I have kept from being full front before is by willingly COMPLETELY stepping back/going dormant. Right now, I'm EXHAUSTED from being at front pretty much full time. But I don't want to step back completely, just maybe take a day or two of "vacation."

So how do I just mildly "step back" and get some one else to front for just a day or so, just so I can get a little rest and return all the stronger for it, without going completely dormant? People have stepped forward since I've been up, just only for a few hours, where I want a few DAYS off!

Thanks in advance,
A very TIRED
Joey

Little Update: Gage has just been up again recently, and he's of the opinion that I don't so much need a few days off in a row, so much as we need to go back to how we used to do things before we were all fully aware: regular switching in and out with no less than 2-3 of us being up over the course of a week. That way, nobody gets overburdened, yet those less "useful" members still get their time out front!

None of us have ever taken any sort of vacation from the front, but a few of us tend to disappear for days at a time. We're not exactly sure why some of us are unreachable sometimes, because I don't think we conciously hide or whatever.

Anyway, this may be of some help! Sometimes, if one of us doesn't feel up to taking on the front for some reason, we can call someone else to take over by enticing them with a situation they would enjoy. Like, Roger really likes mentholated Camel cigarettes, so sometimes if whoever is up front starts to smoke one, Roger will maybe come take the front if he is feeling up to it. We all have different triggers like this. One of mine happens to be www.kittenbreak.com. :3

I hope this is of some use to you! You may have to retrigger your headmates again and again, but I'm sure you'll figure it out. Mercuryspeed. :3

Our previous main front had troubles letting go of the front even though she was so tired and burnt out. What she ended up doing, though we're not sure if it was conscious or not, was creating Hannah and I, who were created embodying all the things she wanted to preserve in the front. She was scared of giving up control, scared whoever took over wouldn't keep up the OCD rituals and would get behind, scared that we wouldn't have a religious main front. So we were created. I'm glad I was created because it's cool to be alive and stuff, but it might be easier to just try and figure out what it is about the front that keeps you out here even when you don't want to be there and try to see if there's anyone who can do those things for you.

What we do is switch front in order from youngest to oldest and we'll take turns day to day. That way we'll have a break every once in a while. Try that.

I haven't ever figured out how to do this either, I'm pretty much stuck front. Even when others are most present. In our case I think a lot of it is the way we are put together and the rest is me not being able to let go and trust.

In my case, it's a matter of I'm the one who is most equipped to take on the world. We have another who *can* but lacks the maturity. So I get stuck a LOT. Although Alixx is getting better about it finally.

We are trying to learn to change drivers, but we haven't quite worked it out yet. The best I can do is 'blank out' while Tahl does his thing. We generally prefer doing things together when we can though.
