I went and looked up a bit more information about these two, and I find it interesting... although inextricably joined, they are totally separate at the same time. They have two separate nervous systems, and one of them controls each leg. They can only walk because they've gone through extensive physical therapy to teach them how to cooperate.
And an little article that mentions the moral, personal, and ethical problems of separating twins. Do you have a healthy life without ever being able to be alone, or do you risk death and live a cripple's life so that you can be separate?
