More curiosity, we seem to have a lot of it lately.

We've found that we, especially Seb, dislike having photographs taken, probably due to the inevitable body dysmorphia. The photo will never record me, only the body.
Does anyone else react this way?

I have a lot of ambivalence about having my picture taken, and can't look at a camera lens directly. I'm a little shy to begin with, and being in a "wrong" body adds to the reluctance of letting someone take my picture. But I'm also curious to see how the picture turns out, and how much of myself shows through. So... ambivalent.

Sometimes we expect pictures to come out differently, due to our self-images not matching with the body. They never seem to, though. I'd assume this is something similar.

we hate pictures.. refuse to take them 99% of the time.. we'll allow stuff like pictures of our tattoos, but not of our face or whole body.. ick!!!!!

First... I LOVE your 'eye'con.... hehe! That is way cool...
Also, we dont like our pic taken either but are happy to let anyone take pics of our tattoos....
I had to go the drivers license place to once again replace my lost license... (good thing I dont actually have acar... I would lose that too!)
And our picture looks like we are mid switch... its SOOOOOO BAD! but at this point I think I dont care because I just need it to buy wine, cigs and get my student ID card replaced when school starts in January....
But... No pics of me... I am an amatuer photographer... and since May, when my Dan bought me a digital camera, I have over 2000 pics stored on my puter... I love taking pics!

No one has ever attempted to photograph me, but if they wished to I would let them. While this body is not exactly like mine (and indeed is missing parts), I think enough of me shows through that I wouldn't be bothered.

we hate photos but that's more to do with traumatic memories than anything, even the sight of a camera is enough to totally weird us out.

As for the body not looking like us, i mean sure its a pain, would love to have my own body all the time, but at the same time, I don't know, maybe its because we have been dealing with this for such a long time, its like par for the course, we simply just deal with it.

we used to have a camera phobia. it helped to buy one and make friends with it and be the one behind it taking the pictures.

ours tho has to do with past issues. dad was a photographer.

I can usually tell who it was who got photographed when I see a picture, and I don't like looking at pictures of us very much. Looking at a photo of her is just a whap on the head reminder that she fits the body so much more than I do, that she works with it. Pictures of me (there aren't many; pictures mean people and I'm not usually out when there are people) usually look either awkward or just different. I think there are a couple floating around from when Jenny and I cofronted, and those are distinctive too. At least to me. No one knows about me or Jenny, and I'm pretty sure no one suspects, so apparently the photos aren't that different, to other people. I don't mind getting photos taken usually.

Ugh, pictures. Even Nikki hates taking pictures, and it's her body. None of her yearbooks have her in it. People always tease us about how we'll end up being one of those writers who no one knows what we look like.

Heh, I just think posing for pictures is annoying, so I always step back. It helps that Rob's my brother, so he looks more or less right. Also, I'm just not that... *thinks of word* carnal? I don't care all that much about the body per se, though that might change as I start fronting more.

a mirror's reflection? taking a picture of a reflection do you mean? do you keep the flash off because the flash is annoying with mirrors. Kes

All of us. Nobody really identifies with the body much. I cope pretty well, it's usually me that's busy taking pictures of new hair styles, new piercings and things like that, but none of us react well to the attention being on the body and the face.

It depends on whoever's fronting. I (the primary fronter) do not resemble the body, but the secondary fronter does (except his gender is opposite to it), so we don't mind photographs if they are representative of the secondary fronter.

we've read the other comments and we can relate to the body not matching our real bodies, but we do enjoy taking photos of ourselves while certain of us are using it, just for our own personal enjoyment. it's fun. I guess we just don't have a hate relationship with the body. it's here and we use it. we don't really think that much of it, I suppose. shrug. LeAnne and few others love to take self portraits of us using the body as a hobby. we have some pics of us in a public gallery off this ljs profile. it doesn't bother us really. shrug. maybe we're freaks in the minority again.

Not freaks. I get like that. I have a lot of pictures I've taken of me in the body. I think maybe part of that is that I take a picture of me and I expect to see me and I do sort of see me. Plus I like showing off whatever new thing it is I am trying to photograph. I'm sure I'd have even more if we photographed better.

It's a love/hate relationship :P I hate that I get the photos and they're of a body that isn't me, but I love taking photos especially if I can see clearly that it is me. If I don't think about it too much I quite enjoy it. Makes me the odd one out in this head I think.

I personally hate having pictures taken, and even when I have to have some done(like to document my weight loss or whatever) it takes me forever to get around to doing it.

We tend to physically manifest a bit though, not too much, but enough that if a pic is taken of someone else, it shows.

We have this project in mind eventually, to take pics of all of us, in our own clothes, to compare them, but again, procrastination when it comes to pictures.

basldf;oidhg;lkzsfn ALL THE FUCKING TIME. X_____________X Even the original owner of the body has this problem - this body doesn't belong to any of us. There are only a couple of people who can take pictures where you can see one/a few/all of us. The body's lover and their system can blast right past the outside layer, and we can manipulate the camera for self-shots (not just myspace angle, either :p).

But oh man. We always think we'll look like we do, all hot and sassy and beautiful, and then there's this lumpy thing in the pictures. *sigh*

Ive never had my picture taken so I dont know but I know sj and the rest of the menagerie dont particularly care to have theirs taken. For her its because she doesnt like the way her body looks, too fat or whatever, for the rest of them its because of that and it doesnt look like them. If we could dye the bodys hair pink Id be happy to let them take my pic! lol

haha thats cool! sj has wanted purple for a long time but wanted to get it done professionally and nobody will do it (stupid west texas conservative bs lol). Her hair is too thick to be able to do it ourselves and have it come out right. One of these days we will get it done somehow though hehe.

If you go to a abeauty supply shop that is open to the public (we like Sally's Beauty Supply) you can get bleach that would work for your hair type... also, Hot Topic sells the best hair colors ever... and if you add an ounce of Volume 20 or 30 developer (also bought at the beauty supply store) to the color, it becomes a permanent color... and very rich! If you lived anywhere around me I would do it for you:) I love doing colors in hair:)
Hopefully you will have the chance someday soon...it is a lovely experience to have the hair color you want...regardless of what anyone says:)

Posing for photos is horrible, though I don't mind so much if a candid shot is taken. I think posing triggers someone who DOESN'T WANT HER PICTURE TAKEN, but if a photo just happens it's not so bad.

Alex has shown up in photos and that's fine, he/she's pretty cocky and likes the body (gender and age slider).

Mirror's can be hard, almost always avoid them. There is a certain way we usually keep the body, we take care of that using a mirror as needed, but basically keep it brief. Too long a contact with a mirror is unsettling as it just isn't who is expected. Someone in here thinks she should more or less see this icon. And the body is aged way beyond this!! (Actual body photo long, long ago).

More of us prefer to be the photo takers than those whose photos are taken of.

It's like, birth people have body dys morphia yet pose a lot in friendly settings, but dislike the photos seen after, most of us regular fronts don't hae enough experience in looking into the mirror because there are more important things to be done and thus photos are same of no importance, and speaking strictly about myself, I just don't think I look like me in there. *L*

Wait LiWaN just said she likes our photos and that I should damn listen.

So, that's it.

=D Personally, I like photographs, and I wish we'd b taken pictures of more. I guess that's cuz we can tell mwho's who--i'm a bit mor upbeat than the rest of the crew, while the host kinda just smiles gently at the camera, Darth smirks, Shishi looks away...

XD Mayb i should find a photographer n the area.
