I have two headmates, Devyn and Wind, who age-fluctuate. Constantly. Sometimes we have Wind the boy, the teen, or the man, and Devyn is the same. They're brothers.

I know others in this community themselves shift age, or have headmates that do... but do any of you have sometimes the same headmate at two different ages? Like, I can talk with 10 year old Wind and adult Wind simultaneously sometimes - of I can hear their reactions simultaneously. I don't feel as though there actually ARE more than one of either of them - but it feels like that...

Does anyone here have any experience with similar phenomina?

Yes. We're DID, so all split from one (at least mostly) and the way we see it is that sometimes the ones who age-shift will split into the younger and older versions.

Hi, I'm Shawna. I am one of the age sliders in our system. Normally I am a very old/mature 15 years since I have been 15 for so long and am one of the main protectors here. When I slide I am always 3 years old. When I'm 3 I go by the name small`sky or sky for short. I didn't like sliding at for a long time but now I have come to terms with it and I think of it sort of like sky being my inner child if I was a singlet. I could tell you that right now sky really wishes she had some ice cream because she has wanted some for days and we dont have any, and if I dwell on those thoughts I would likely slide. (Not ice cream thoughts necessarily lol, just skys thoughts & feelings.) There are not 2 of me though, and sky is still me just well, slid. I think I understand what you are saying, but I don't think I can be shawna and sky at the exact same time, but on the other hand I guess I always am, depending on how you look at it.

True, I just assumed that since I started sliding only a couple years ago after being 15 for many years. I still don't understand it all but at least I know I am not alone.

Mmmm. I have noted that some here age-slide, or slide in other fashions. According to them, the different states can talk to one another within their own heads. Very rarely can the rest of us hear them, though occasional bleedthrough during times of great stress occurs.

Ha! It sounds like your system and mine have lots in common! :) ~ Straif

um.. yeah.. I'm one of the age sliders here.. and probably the one that slides the most and across the biggest range. I slide very very quickly.. Gen says I can shift not only between comments, but between the begining and end of the sentence.. so it's not exactly like what you talked about, but if I shift that quickly.. I'd finish the thought I had.. and then comment from the changed perspective. um.. not sure how much you want to say..
so feel free to ask if you want clarification.. sorry if this isn't the kind of experience to answer your question

I'm Michaela, also an age slider and also one who has split at different ages. There is the 4 year old version of me, Michy (pronounced mish-ee), the 7 year old version, who also happens to be a male snow leopard (his choice after a T said he could be anything he wants!), and Michelle, the 16 year old version. I myself am 27 (the body is 33). I do sometime slide down, usually to one of my other selves, and esp. when we are dealing with something nasty. Alex or Susan can hear any of us seperately, but when I move, they do to. They are almost like shadows but they have their own opinions...usually age appropriate to them. Sometimes I have a hard time knowing what age I am because I slide without warning... argh!:)
I know many other systems with similar 'subsystems', as it were.
Hope this answers your question a bit...

[livejournal.com profile] ikeru, one of my headmates, is always experimenting with ways of being. Sometimes it's conscious, and sometimes it just happens--but there have been occasions where I have been talking with two of him at once. No one else in-system does that; we consider him to be a system within a system, and for brevity, we leave it at that. ;)

Here (http://ikeru.livejournal.com/121234.html) is an entry where two of him post conjointly. Not only does he talk with us while being in more than one state of being, but--more frequently--he talks to/among his other self or selves.

He'll probably add more to this later, but for now we need to sleep.

Hey, Mark here.

Um... guess I'd just like to throw out that I'm an age-slider. And I have, on some occassions, been different ages at the same time... I sort of slip continuums, sometimes, too, if that's the best way of putting it. Um. I go between a few different versions of me? But they're all still me. If that makes sense.

Really, Evie's the only one of us who's age-stable consistantly, and she's slid a couple of times. We're a very flexible group. (We flow, rather than just flat-out exist. Or something. -April)

(Totally off topic--sorry! I really dig your icon. For a multiple community, this is both functional and attractive.)

(Heh, thanks. Ironically, it's a lyric from the musical I'm "from".)

I ageslide and timeslip so sometimes I'm both little and big at the same time for teh others in teh system. It doesn't seem to bug most of tehm and teh few it does bug they don't like it because it gives them a headache.

I don't typically age slide (it's a random triggery thing, I guess I'd view it more like dissociation than anything else), but I've found that I can be myself and hear/feel the reactions of 'her'. It's not like there's a young!me hanging around, just that if I get twitchy and don't 'click' into that age, I can often still hear 'her'. I haven't asked my headmates if they can too.
