new and shiny
Oct. 4th, 2003 12:49 amhopefully!
we revised the previously-posted essay on "dissociative identity disorder" per some of the feedback we got. it's basically the same, but hopefully it's a little easier to read now that we rearranged a little of it.
it's over 9,000 words now. maybe it already was. it's a little ludicrous :) we were surprised to see two of our friends take like half an hour each to read it today.
my point: go read the pipelinks! (if you want.) they're funny! (some of them.)

that is: move your mouse over words that are underlined and read what is
underneath them! it should pop up a little thing saying what they say, in
most browsers, or the navigation bar at the bottom of your browser will
tell you what link it goes to. (like, it'll say "jargon" or it'll show you
that it goes to
http://www.everything2.com/index.pl?node=jargon&lastnode_id=151443)
hmm. does anyone in here want to explain why "mental disorders" links to
"breakfast cereal"? *eyeballs rest of system*

Date: 2003-10-04 07:08 pm (UTC)We were blown away...you've addressed just about everything we can think of.
*applauds*
If we think of anything later we'll let you know, but right now, we think that's fantastic. The more education the singlets get, the better, and better still when it's written by a multiple, rather than some psychiatrist on an ego-inflated, God-like powertrip.
How can a singlet really write about multiplicity, after all? It'd be like us writing about being African-American or something. Even if I read every book there was, I'd never understand what it's really like to be black, because I'm not. That doesn't mean we can't be sensitive and educated about African-American issues. We just have to keep in mind that that knowledge and empathy aren't the same as living the life.

Date: 2003-10-04 07:21 pm (UTC)We got introduced to Fraggle Rock by our partner yesterday, and we *so* loved it. Jim Henson productions rock our world. We could watch Bear in the Big Blue House or The Muppet Show all day.
