Might not be posting for a while.

There's a faction that feels they should be able to be as offensive and obnoxious as possible, that this will prove who my friends are. Trouble is I don't have that many to begin with, the ones I do have aren't used to such things (they're starting to swear too).

They are NOT supposed to be posting, but they have tried to hijack things and take front several times today, even infecting a post I made with cursing and such.

Do any of you have this trouble? I feel like I'm hosting a civil war here.

They may ease off if you make sure they see you actually taking the time to think through their ideas, and perhaps apply them in some way you feel comfortable with.

I've often had 'contraversial' methods, but we find things go a lot smoother if I hear "Hmmm, you may have a point," rather than a plain "You can't do that" knockback. The latter usually just pisses me off and makes me worse, and I'm nowhere near as tempermental as the stereotypical "angry alter".

(and tbh, they may well have a point. It's up to you to reach a compromise, I suppose)

We have a guy in here who's a pretty cool person in general, but if he doesn't blow his steam occasionally (not in the angry way, but the weird-ass-silly way), he gets quite obnoxious himself. Not out here for the most part, but it's hard to focus on things when you've got someone making background noise inside of a, er, un-PC sort.

So we let him join a couple of LJ communities where being a complete, er, jackass, was perfectly acceptable. In some cases, the more obnoxious, the better.

Just a thought. Not sure if that would be right for that faction of yours.

Was it a group decision that only one of you can post? Because I know that if someone tried to cut off my posting access just on the grounds that only one of us should be allowed to do it, I would probably be trying to find ways to get around that, in short order.

I don't mind swearing. Heck, I can sound really horrible if I get going about something.
