Hello, I just found this group from a Wikipedia article on dissociation. Looks good!

My official diagnosis way back when was DDNOS, but looking at criteria and all I was probably poly-DID (had 120 alts at one time, we're down to 18 they tell me). Married (pretty sure he's DID also, we have interesting conversations), three kids. We're all doing pretty well, thanks.

Look forward to poking around and getting to know everyone.

Nice to meet you, as well. This is a great place for discussions about all types of experiences involving multiplicity. There's a great amount of diversity of experience and opinion.

Welcome!

dissociative disorder not otherwise specified. this term was a fav of docs who ran into co consious multiplicity

oh lol so its a "we don't know what the hell it is soo.... we'll give it a new name!" type thing. It's funny how much they don't know. A lot still don't belive in co consiousness from what we've seen anyway.

Yeah I think for people with multiplicity steemed from abuse especially, and all those who cant talk to the rest too, thats a big step. My/our life has gotten better since we were able to communicate with each other. But its funny, once a psychologist thought we were lying about being a multiple because we could talk to each other and knew a bit of what the others were doing. 9_9

Probably been overdone all ready, but welcome to the group, and feel free to look around. I'm poly-DID too, though I was "caught young", or so I've been told. Was your system (hope no one jumps on the I-word...just an innocent question) integrated in part? I know some of my alters naturally merged together, which I didn't expect. Sorry if I'm all ready asking too many questions, lol.

I don't know that people can tell ;) That's why people ask rather than assume. Many systems of reduced numbers have members simpley leave or fade out, rather than integrate, so it's sometimes not initially obvious exactly what a person has experienced.
