[identity profile] underlankers.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] multiplicity_archives
The citizens of the Underlanker Empire are nearly all more conservative than modern-day American conservatives. We have a monarchial world government that has had only one change of dynasty in 10,016 years. Our leader, Arnold Vinick I of the Vinick dynasty, has replaced the older Underlan rulers who gave the Empire it's name. The Emperor serves as head over (some say illegitimate) nations such as the Algastronic Empire, the Kingdom of Lavterion, and the semi-sovereign Superhuman Crew. There is no Earthworld empire that accurately matches our world's way of ruling itself, and the closest I can think of is a cross between Hohenzollern Germany, Habsburg Austria under Franz Josef, and the old Roman Empire. Having lived under a mostly stable world government that has been uniformly antagonistic to change and ideals of democracy, the more Underlanker members of the Crew find themselves uniformly amazed at how the USA has been able to function as any kind of democracy. The most liberal members of the Crew are constantly harassed by the people who spend more time in classic Bizjarra (the name of the planet on which the Empire is based). Sorry if this is too long.

Talking about your homeworld here is fine, click here for more (http://www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=multiplicity&keyword=subjective+worlds&filter=all). Also [livejournal.com profile] beyondthegates.

I'd like to know where they did that too. We've had correspondence from people who spent some time in WeRMany and a few other places, who were banned or got warnings for saying "we" about themselves, for speaking of other people in the system as persons -- you were supposed to present yourself as a single person with parts or alters -- a host-alters setup, whether that was true to your experience or not. Somebody talked about a couple in their group getting married and were told "That can't happen, dear. It's just a fantasy." Was the place you went like that?

Okay-- I think places like that are whacked for telling you what ya can't say and think about yourselves and all that! It ain't freaking hurting nobody and disrespecting them when you're referencing yourselves! Good to know there are places like that out there. So glad we haven't come across places with whacked rules like that. WAY not for us! But like hey, whatever works for other people. I still think it's whacked. Thanks for like saying all that cuz I so didn't know there were places that get all weird about well being themselves and who they are and their experiences.

My experience is that fairly often, online, if you post about being multiple at all in forums that don't have anything to do with multiplicity, you will get called an attention whore, a fake, and a liar. Sometimes it's better not to call attention to it.
