Intro post/quick question
Mar. 12th, 2006 09:05 pmOkay, well, here goes--
My name around here is DLFreak, or DL, as people call me. I am, in fact, an otherkin, but that really has nothing to do with the question I am going to ask.
I'm not entirely sure if I am a multiple or not. First of all, I do have several distinct, different people/voices who I talk to regularly, some more often than others. Most of these are characters I have written--or, rather, who have written themselves. One of these is named Jack, whom I talk to the most out of these voices.
Now, Jack's clearly different from me as they all are. His case is different, however, as he can actually...I suppose you call it "front", here? He hardly ever does, and he never does it unless I allow him to. And every time he does, I am still fully in control and can call him back at any time. For the most part, he is just another voice that I talk to, like the others.
I just think the curious part of this is his inability--or perhaps unwillingness--to "front" unless I give him my permission. Other times, he seems to take a sort of guardian role for me, counseling me when I get really upset and stuff like that. Whenever he wants to talk, he usually just lets me say everything for him.
Any ideas? Is this multiplicity or not? Am I just a crazy one here? Am I both? O.o;;

Date: 2006-03-13 04:14 am (UTC)Basically, if I allow him to, Jack will in a sort move to the front, but I'm always directly behind him, per se. He can control my actions and movements, but is still basically taking orders from me. I slip into his way of thinking, but I'm still there. I can see everything that's going on, and I never retreat back entirely.
Jack, on the other hand, will retreat back to...wherever, I don't know. He stays there with the others, talking to them. They'll surface and talk to me.
Jack's the only one with the ability of control like this. The others wouldn't be able to come to the front, even if they wanted to. The only way the others influence me is by the fact that they each, in a sense, embody different aspects of my personality. Like one, Luciphe, is my "insane side". And yet, they're not really "sides", they're each distinct people/personalities unto themselves.
Is any of this making sense here? O__o;; I'm really horrible at explaining things.

Date: 2006-03-13 04:29 am (UTC)"Probably the main characteristic distinguishing medians from singlets and multiples is the presence of more than one person in the body, but without the independence of persons in a multiple system. Persons in a median system may be dependent upon a single individual (who may have created them at some point), and unable to exist without that central person..."

Date: 2006-03-13 04:39 am (UTC)I don't think the others could exist if I didn't...but again, Jack's stubborn about being the weird exception. He's the completely different entity that dwells here. O.o;;
