Hi Shelby here ,
Where we work is a Energency Room and off our assesment area is a TV waiting room . Well everyone kept talking about finding out what happens to "Jessie" and "Tess" on "One Life To Live "
I guess for years, There was a character that played Vicki with her "alters" Nicki and then maybe others . Having MPD/DID she won many Emmys and Soap Opera awards for her "accurate portrayal of a multiple and bringing awareness to the "disorder"
The whole plot has changed to now intergrated Vickie Buchanans daughter Jessie or Jessica now has a alter named Tess .
It's on at 2pm on Channel 13 ( ABC) Eastern time The Character Vicki now Mom is trying to convince everyone Jessica' ( daughter) husband and Boyfriend, relatives that indeed her daughter is "insane now "and in a fight for her life making statements Like "You have know idea what a "alter" wlll do to ,to continue living " How the Core lives in blackness and a black pit of Nothingness and ,can see the hand of the alter reaching in to help her and pull her out and they need each other to live , merge and integrate" .
I finally peeked my head out to see a bunch of clients standing around the TV in suspense as" Tess" is confronted with reality of really being Jessica and not "a real person".
Of course Tess pulls a gun on a complete Police Dept and it ends On a close up freeze of Tess and Jess fighting for control of reality and the body, holding the gun shaking , Blinking in pain ... Music fade's away !
I went into my office shut the door and wanted to bash my head on my desk . This plot carried OLTL threw the 70' 80's 90's and just when in 2000 we thought it was over for good , it is back again To visit Vickis daughter . Vicki actually orignated this role and the character of "Nicki" the evil Vicki in the 70's but it was considered split personality, then . Has anyone seen it ?. If you want a good laugh or preferr purging from nausea we suggest ..watch this daily .

This is suppose to be the teens time to Im ,but were all having so much fun there letting us stay on and there all laughing at us "old foggy's" geepers last I checked I was still just 22 but Tiea woke up and she is 45 or 46 depends on which day you ask her .
We all agree leaving a milestone like 45 was traumatic for her ha ha
Elaine wants us to change the channel to Soap Channel so she can see Tess be discoverd again and hold police at bay with a tiny purse gun . Joe says" a bullet is still a bullet." and stomps to the fridge
All week I was wondering what everyone was so into in the waiting Room at work on TV.
Heres the problem Manassah says and she is our communal "voice of reason " since she has not introduced herself yet .
She says "Keep in mind Its a Soap Opera where the characters die and re-nagotiate there contracts and come back to life being written in . So who is going to really care what we say." She compares it to complaining that in a carton the same cartoon gets spltterred into walls and gets up and walks away unharmed. So this is giving us reason to think about it different. On that Our Mood ring just went from bright blue to grey /green again.
But then its getting colder too. Wonder what purple means , thats not suppose to happen , right ? Marty says "flying toasters" and joins Joe at the fridge .

Its not even laughable .. Its sickable ! But How much ya all wanna bet the Trauma based whiney survivors of MPD/DID will totally write her fan mail saying "Thank you for representing us as a group in a POSITIVE LIGHT ". sh**t
Last time the Vicki Characters alter in the 90's locked her under ground to not be merged and Nicki ran off and would come visit her in the underground dungeon . Too give her water. Of course later Vicki described this was her dungeon inside she, was in a dream state , and of course its a Soap Opera so they can get away with it . But it did not look La la la la to the viewer , or maybe it did.
But the actress Erica ? who plays Vicki the multiple Mother who originated the role won a emmy 12 years in a role as long as she played a Multiple .
Now Jessica the daughter will be nominated this year ,It just makes me ill. That clients I had to access were rapped up in this . Entering my office asking so.. Do you think OLTL is representing people with multiplicity correctly ?.
I had to rush Jade and almost knock her unconscious cause she almost started sputtering " This is bullshit I am like Tess and "alter" and here working with you and not running around threatening to shoot up a police departemnt " But she was screaming it in my head ... Tiea was laughing her ass off and pointed to the TV in a deep belly laugh looking at Tess'e eyes when she was discovered to be The EvIl alter when the T asked "whats so funny" Tiea smugly walked away saying " I should apply to be a writer for that show 3 decades off this and they still can't get it right" as she was waiting for the elevator" so the T says " Tiea Maybe you should write the show and tell them they are not helping multiples at all" T is acting less defensive and like self again.
On the way home we thought of a Media Package we saw in one of the links " We've been asking CM: who never forgets anything where is the media thing cause we want to start a petition?"
They started this story line in the 70's with Vicki being Nicki the evil "alter" and called it split personality ...Then in the late 80's they added to Vicki , Nicki and Victoria and called it MPD and then mid 90's she had males and females ( why is there always a Tommie or Bobby and Molly ? or Susie On TV that is ? Not a downer if ya got one of those but on TV these are favorite names?
Never mind then in 2000 her brother Todd Manning Evil crimminl faked it, saying it was genetic possibly and now her daughter jessica , Jess , Jessie, has Tess and possibly many more
Of course she is playing the typical ,whore one night stands, man hater who hates jessica Perfect little jessica , the core
Anyone feel up to tackeling ONE LIFE TO LIVE 30 years of misrepresenting Mulitiples? I really go in circles when I start writting can ya tell yet ?am I making ya dizzy yet?
My head hurts and this crap is on Soap Channel at Night too ... And a OLTL Marathon on Sundays.
But to finally answer the question ,Yeah they did the mirror thing, Plus they added the Broken mirror thing, which looked real spookey... Oh The Drama does it ever end? Drama, drama, drama Excuse me I must go puke now

I think a lot of multiple characters on TV are just to give the actresses a chance to spin their heads and spit pea soup, so to speak. It's like when Sally Field won an Emmy for "Sybil" in 1976-- I mean, that whole movie, really, half the reason it was so overdramatised (they made her look like even more of a basket case than the book did) was just for Sally Field to show off her acting skills and do everyone's different voices. Actually, I think it goes all the way back to Joanne Woodward winning the Oscar for "Three Faces of Eve" in 1957. Basically, you get to play several characters in one movie-- flat caricatures all of them, who on their own would probably be laughed at for being such stock stereotypes, but if you're a multiple it's "showing your incredible range of acting," and "accurately portraying the tragic life of people with this disorder."

Clearing things up like "yes it does actually exist" and there is more litterature on it that just Sybil. My personal favorite is how they were disgusing the concept of Viki being Jessica's mom and Niki being Tess's mom. I had a long post to that one but it is gone so either it was deleted or one the the system didn't want me causing shit and educating these people...not that I am an expert by any strech of the means.
It didn't make me mad just made me laugh and realize we realy need to go back to work lol.

But I need singnatures from all over the world ..Like from New Zealand , Australia and Germany and New York and California with all our names all alters represented Complte households we have more numbers . We can do allot more as a group within a groupo than the few drama multiples that are writing the show .

Thanks for putting it in Plural watching Thats new to me. Also Pavillion, I think there the ones with the nedia kit. But heres the thing theres all these supposadly genuine multiiples who applaud this show for representing them so perfectly , cause they use the proper Psych glossery terms and models of thereapy .
This has not been going on 20 years but now Thirty years and still going.
When does the craziness stop ? Stop the Insanity ? That could be the name of the petition. or Law. Like it worked for Suzzanne Powders remember the exercise guru with buzzed off hair ? She came out as a multiple too and wrote her book , Supposadly this is why she gained wieght she had a alter that ate too much , Then when she was a alcholic she wrote a book about a alter that drank too much. We went in and edited this top article about One life To Live and took out all codes , but we also made paragraphs but they do not show up in the writing . We had 5 paragraphs in there .
