Have you seen?
Sep. 3rd, 2005 12:44 pmThere's a new Cotton commercial that has a brunette trying on an outfit and then another of her trying on another outfit and finally there are about 8 or 10 of her each wearing a different outfit and they are all fighting about what should be collectively worn. Someone says "I think your aura..." and then finally the last one comes out wearing a dress that they all say "is wonderful" and works for them, and then the Cotton tagline says "Multiple Personalities: Multiple Choices" or something.....
I thought it was amusing.

Date: 2005-09-03 06:13 pm (UTC)There's a line of hairdressing products called "Multiple Personalities" because you can combine them and get different effects.
Less to the point, but still highly amusing when one's in the health food store, there is a line of vitamins called "My Favorite Multiple" and another called "Everyone's Multiple."

Date: 2005-09-03 06:20 pm (UTC)I heard a comedian who came to BG this past Thurs .and she was talking about needing to be a multiple so she could do lots of things at once - she said "You need mulitple personalities to help you out!" and I giggled.

I've been saying this for years!
If I had made that commercial... the conclusion would be, "LET'S BUY THEM ALL!"

Date: 2005-09-04 07:19 pm (UTC)I'm the shopper, so I've got a ton of nice clothes - clothes I seldom wear, because if Crist-Erui comes up, he's liable to either take them right off or accidentally ruin them, and Kír just won't come up at all if the body's too feminine in any way. What we need is something elegant, comfortable, practical, all-natural, extremely sturdy, yet beautiful in an androgynous sort of way, and not too weird to wear in mundane life. Tall order to fill, eh?

Date: 2005-09-04 07:49 pm (UTC)Sounds like a case for denim. Jeans (fitted, please, but not tight) and a jean jacket (lady-cut for the boob issues) and some colorful shirts (not t-shirts with the chunky crew neckline, but something to dress up the look a tiny bit). Flattering for you, not too girly for Kir, and plenty sturdy for Crist-Erui. Not exciting, granted. But basic.
Maybe a few pieces of jewelry - a pendant on a chain, or some thin bangle braclets, or a ring - that you can all agree on and won't get in the way.
Luckily, living out on the OlyPenn, "formal wear" isn't much of an issue.
Ash and Annabelle play "jokes" on eachother about their apperence... Annabelle is feeling playful, so Ash ends up with women's panties at work, so then he starts growing out his beard again...

Date: 2005-09-04 08:32 pm (UTC)That's pretty-much what we've got, except the everday jacket is Polarfleece. Fortunately, the 'boob issue' isn't enough of an issue to be a problem, since Crist-Erui absolutely won't tolerate bras. He likes sweat-pants better than jeans, but he'll wear jeans if they're not too tight. Kír would like a vest, so I've been looking for one that would suit him, but haven't yet found a good one in our price-range.

That's the truth; the only time I have to worry about it is going to see my parents. Most of the dressing-up we do is for SCA/Ren Faire/fantasy stuff, and most of our garb is pretty sturdy and androgynous - I seldom have the urge to be very 'girly', but sometimes it would be nice.
LOL, mostly we just change clothes a lot. Crist-Erui's actually gotten very good about wearing what Kír tells him to wear, keeping his clothes on, and not abandoning his coat or shoes in the forest. He still doesn't pay any attention to rips or stains, though, so if he's going out to wander in the wild or roll around with the dogs, we get him into clothing that will withstand it.
