This is what I came up with this morning... a guide to the system I'm part of.

Enjoy, learn, and feel free to ask questions. (I'd actually like to add a FAQ to it, so please, ask questions.)

And in other news,

Much love for the Ash icon, yet strangely appropriate.

BTW, I'm also adding you so that both of you can see my posts as well (I already have Crys on my list, though I've chatted with you a couple times on Gaia)

What, would you rather Ellen from "El Goonish Shive"?

I think not.

Like the opinions you had been previously expressing, Ash is fighting against his newly modified body in any way he can.

[semi-random humour]
*whiirrr... click*
Insatiable curiosity engaged. Proceed at own risk. Any inquires as to a warranty will be met with excessive force.
(...'There is no 'overkill'; there is only 'Open fire' and 'I need to reload'...)
[/humour]

The main question which comes to mind: why said hormone therapy/surgery? I/We can think of various reasons, but we're still curious to hear/learn the correct one.

On the icon... 'Interesting', I think Markus would probably say. Still trying to come to a consensus on whether it's (personally) ethical to harbour PSL for Ash. Until we come to a conclusion on that, we'll go with the rest and say 'Appropriate'.

*stops; thinks for a moment* Ah! Now I remember what the main issue was: Misfile hasn't run for long enough for us to decide for certain wht our official view on it, as a webcomic, should be. So far, though... definitely interesting. *nods* And almost utterly irrelevant.

...must... learn... to not ramble...

*nods slightly* Understandable.

*thinks for a few moments* Why is she the primary?

Not to hijack that thread, but that's one of the reason's I'm so worried about what recently happened to Logic in my own system. I worry that this new-Logic might develop a male identity and want to undo the things that we've done over the past few years. And I share Melissa's situation, though if Logic were to develop a male identity, I don't know if I'd have the authority to override him.

*nods* One can see why one would or might want to respect seniority. *eyes most senior of his system for a second or so; chuckles to himself*

Thank you for your answers. If you desire more questions, be aware that there will likely never be a time when I/we am/are both concious and without questions, on approximately every conceivable subject.

I'm not the "primary" or "main front" any more thank ghu, but I was the one who proposed that we transition (FTM) our body. I don't get suicidal, but this body just isn't me, or any of us. When we recognized that, we all felt better.

The frontrunners are almost all guys now anyhow, and the lady frontrunners said they didn't care what the body was as long as it is healthy and comfortable.

What do you mean by you are not an 'inner'?

From: [identity profile] pengke.livejournal.com
That's not what people mean when they use the term inner. Your post is misleading. It makes it seem like you're different because you're not a fragment. You're not. We're all full individual people here as are most of the people that post to this community.

Yes but that doesn't mean that those other people are fragments.

He's saying that he wants to differentiate himself absolutely from systems mostly made up of fragments.

We'll edit it a little bit later, once he's feeling better. The kids are here (irl) getting on his nerves.

Just because he's not a fragment doesn't mean some of the others in the system aren't. So perhaps he's differentiating himself from those within their system who are. Perhaps he's differentiating between that and what other people he's associated with have called the people in their heads.

Either way, it seems that if those he shares his system with don't object, and if it effectively communicates the idea of "someone else in here" he can use whatever term he wants.

If they don't object, you have no right to.

So why are you taking it that way? He seems to be making clear to me which are the fragments and which are not.

Are you trying to say that there is no such thing?

From: [identity profile] pengke.livejournal.com
It's not that he's differentiating. It's how he's differentiating and making it seem like fragments and pieces are the default for other systems.

As for whether I have a right, he's the one who posted the link and asked for opinions.

Then perhaps you should explain why? I don't see why it seems that way to you... It seems to me that he differentiates quite well really. The fact that most of the descriptions begin with "She's a very strong individual," or "The main other person in our system" seems to me to imply that most of the people in there are /not/ fragments or pieces or anything. And the ones that are, seem to be the exceptions.

Perhaps I'm just reading it differently that you. I don't know. It just seems odd that anything here would offend you.

It's a valid thread and point

Deserving it's own post actually.

I know of at least one system who is transitioning, with a somewhat panicked male. However, he's outnumbered.

You may want to talk with Logic about your concerns if you can. Perhaps if he does, he's willing to express it without backtracking your transition.

Logic did not identify as male nor female; it viewed itself like a program within the mind, set to a task and nothing else. Logic was aware, but only bordering on sentient. This new being, who is currently trying the name "Memory" for us (like Logic, it does not see the need for a name, but it will take one for sake of easier communication; the fact that it chose the name "Memory" is another story that I'm not sure how to react) has its own opinions and viewpoints. It also has a great deal of -- and this is why it chose the name -- memories of the body's past, including alot of the time presenting as male. Memory gives off a masculine vibe despite its insistence that it does not identify as either. We've talked a bit and have come to a nervous understanding of things.

We always wondered why Ty felt he "couldn't call himself physically male" any more just because the body was transitioning. He's still himself, right? (self-image vs. body image)
