I wanted to say hi and introduce myselves.
We became aware of each other only about a year ago and have been on a quest to make sense of it all.
we've been reading this thread for months and have been putting off making an account.
Thanks for being here :P
It's nice to know someone somewhere doesn't think all our problems will be solved if we'd all just stop existing.

My name is Tia and Im a member of the system that we've recently agreed to call the Changelyng
we have about 14 of us. no 'original' person. the majority of us are retired frontrunners. Two of us are female, one might be like what people call otherkin. four or five children. Our names are Frog, Loco, Tyler, A.J. (adrenaline junkie), Drugless, Lovecry, Synch, Quiet boy, Indian, The Spirit, The Counselor, Mike, Manic, Candy, and Myself (Tia).

Mine if I ask a possibly dumb question as a singlet?

I don't understand not having an "orginal." Does this mean you have always been multiple (as in from birth) as opposed to trauma-based multiple?

I'm not the person that wrote the original post but we don't have an original either, the person born into this born died when she was three. We are a gateway system, but wouldn't be so if the "original" hadn't died that day opening the gateway. So I don't think having or not having an original is based in any one type of multiplicity

We have no idea who or if we have an "original" in our group. There are some who have used variations of the birth name (the name on the body's birth certificate), but that could mean anything. As of right now, we do not have an "original", meaning we have no clue if there ever was just one who was born to the body. Perhaps, the person died, or moved away or any other possible explanations.

That isn't dumb. One does tend to hear more about having an original person in trauma-based multiplicity, but not necessarily. Some groups might start out with one person but simply acquire others along the way.

I am still confused about the no original thing.

Some multiples start out as a singlet, then personae are introduced into the system (viewpoint varies by multiple). In such cases, there is an "original" and others who came in later.

In other systems, something may have happened to that original. Perhaps it collapsed completely when minds split. Maybe it got absorbed or destroyed by another persona within the system. Maybe something else happened to disable or destroy it otherwise. Depends on the system.

Also, some originals don't die if split, it's more like a stem with leaves (Vicki(s)) or a zygote that divides and makes twins, quadruplets, etc.

Welcome... Hmm, I am the "original" the first born... as well as the "host"... I come out and function mostly but the others hold most of my memories of childhood.
Each system differs, as none of us are the same in anyway. :) Like singletons... Unique.
