I was just curious as to if you have nightmares and when you wake up you remember a good deal of it is it possible that its one of the others trying to show you something that you dont remember?

I have never had a nightmare of this magnitude where when I wake up I still have most of it, its pretty scary and I wasnt sure where else to ask

thank you in advance

That's the theory according to the belief that multiplicity originates in trauma and splitting off new people to hold the memories privately until they think you're ready, or other life circumstances allow you, to know what happened.

This is really how multiplicity works for some people, including some on this community, and maybe they can describe what it's like.

However, I wouldn't assume that nightmares are necessarily memories -- even if every detail of the dream stayed with you. Our worst nightmares -- and we've had some very nasty ones -- are not memories, but interpretations of our worst fears. Write it down, consider the content, and consider past dreams you've had and how often they've turned out to be memories.

No one here's ever tried to tell anyone anything with dreams, but I'll say that my "little brother"'s nightmares scare me more than any nightmares of my own. I tend to remember them longer and with more detail than mine.

...but he doesn't find them to be all that frightening. Go figure. He just calls them his "anxiety dreams".
