[livejournal.com profile] plural_living is a publically visible community focused on the daily practicalities of living in a body shared by others.

Unlike existing communities, [livejournal.com profile] plural_living is focussed solely on how plurality affects day to day life, relationships, jobs and so on. Discussions of the origins of plurality or if plurality exists are off topic. By joining the community you imply that you accept the reality of plural existence and find that the origins of anyone's plurality, at least during discussions on the community, is not of relevance. We are not discussing the past but the current day to day reality of [livejournal.com profile] plural_living. Other issues should be discussed elsewhere on the numerous communities and mailing lists on which they would be on topic, or on your own personal journals.

It is expected that members join the community with a reasonably functional operating system, meaning that their system runs smoothly and can solve most problems that might affect their daily life amongst themselves. We are very interested in descriptions of functional operating systems and their cooperation and/or conflict resolution mechanisms, additionally discussions on how to tweak and improve such mechanisms are completely on topic.

If your operating system is self-destructive or not focused towards some form of cooperation, activity towards the common good of the system, or conflict resolution, then there are other forums existing within which you can work towards resolving or discussing these issues. Please do not use [livejournal.com profile] plural_living for this purpose.

We do not expect our members to be 'perfect' or without problems and recognise that people in plural groups are as likely to have issues and disorders as anyone else. However, we require that discussion of these issues mostly take place away from [livejournal.com profile] plural_living and instead in a forum which is actually devoted to that issue. The experiences of PTSD, depression and dysfunctional dissociation are off topic here. If you wish to discuss how these problems interact with plurality then [livejournal.com profile] multiplicity is open to such discussions. On the other hand, discussions of how, or whether or not, to disclose one's plural existence to therapists treating you for any of these issues are totally on topic, as is coming out in general.

In order to post comments or entries, you must first become a member of the community.

At the very least, we expect our members not to consider the experience of being plural itself to be a disorder. By joining the community you are accepting that plurality is as valid a form of existence as any other.

Non-plural members are welcome but before joining should accept that plurality is as real and as valid an existence as any other.

Please read the community profile before joining or posting. The community will be moderated, members ignoring these requests will be warned three times before being banned from the community. Thank you for respecting the purpose of the community and the experience of its members.
