I'll probably take flack for this but...

I'm kind of two people sharing the same body. A division of mind, two personalities with some shared memories.
I read some posts in this community & go "Yes... that sounds familiar. I'm glad I'm not alone."
I read some posts and go "Riiight... nutter, nut-ter. Notjob"
This place occasionally makes me feel sane because I read things from literate inteligent people who just happen to be sharing a body with others. Occasionally it makes me feel sane because I read posts and realise that I'm a healty sane multiple, not insane like the poster.

I'll not single out any individuals (forgive the pun) but the nut-job posts I read usually ... heck. I'm not going to give examples. I think you know which ones I'm refering to.

Glad that you have the whole idea of multiplicity all figured out in your head.

Bravo for close-minded people.

That was sarcasm, by the way.

Never said you didn't understand me.

You lumped a bunch of people together and called them insane. And this starts a discussion how exactly?

The only place I see this going to is similar to school yard gossip. Which I left behind long ago.

she didn't "lump a bunch fo people together and call them insane".
(if we are, i'm assuming, going beyond what is outright stated and interpreting what was meant to be implied)

she merely suggested that some of the posts on this community suggest oddity, the likes of which has been seen before, and the likes of which can sometimes be judged [negatively] correctly, if you know what to look for.

she said that the nutty-sounding posts make the people seem wacky; she never said anything that placed them any lower than the general run-of-the-mill moron that everyone defines for himself.

comparing things to schoolyard gossip, on the other hand, is an outright pretentious thing to say. self-righteous "you're closed-minded!" responses will never be taken seriously.

Uhm, well no. She didn't say they suggest oddity. She said they were insane.

Big difference.

you could've just told me you diagreed and took everything literally.

[identity profile] bekkle.livejournal.com 2005-08-25 06:52 pm (UTC)(link)
i think we just had a difference of interpretation.

i think her post was unnecessary and unnecessarily "aggresive" or "negative", but i also think it's possible to understand what the hell she's trying to say.

basically that some people are dumbasses.
hahaha

[identity profile] kangetsuhime.livejournal.com 2005-08-25 07:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Which is, again, a lot different from saying their entries suggest oddity.

Oddity is fine, even a compliment, an expression of quirky individuality.

Insane? dumbasses? As part of a fairly aggressive post? That's insults.

[identity profile] bekkle.livejournal.com 2005-08-26 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
i was saying that the word 'insane' MADE the post aggressive.

i don't necessarily take her side, i just understand that she isn't being a total asshole, which it definitely could seem like.

eh the rest of what i'm trying to say is too hard to verbalize so i give up hahaha

[identity profile] kangetsuhime.livejournal.com 2005-08-26 10:30 am (UTC)(link)
The post was aggressive anyway.

The point she is trying to make seems quite clear, regardless of the finer points of grammar and vocabulary. And it's not a particularly friendly or well meaning point.
