There is a new live journal community.

Primarily it is focused on otherkin guardians who use less then white light techniques to help people. Given one of the resent situations I encountered it occurred to me that there are many people in multiple systems that do just that, myself for example. I made this community a very short time ago (2 weeks or so) and expect it to be slow, but those people to whom it may be relevant are welcome to join. Despite the subject matter this community is not made to emphasize anyone’s ability be a cool and dark anything, nor is it meant to attract secret otherkin guardians. It is focused on keeping people safe through alternate non politically correct means, like fronting and speaking your mind when it would not be nice to otherwise.

Here is the post that prompted me to write here, the 13 year old in question is an individual in our system and this happened on her live journal. It is not a very big deal, but it did annoy me because it spooked her.

The community name is _guardiandemon_. Warning: It is not multiple specific and it is very new so it does not yet have a consistent environment.

There is a darkness that is the balance of light, the darkness of the yin/yang - darkness of night - darkness of a good and healthy, timely death that leads to rich decay and the birth of new life - Kali darkness - darkness of boundaries and protection and baring one's teeth, marking one's territory, defending one's cubs, hunting for food that satisfies, honoring the adrenaline rush of one's power. While this darkness is, well, DARK - not lightness and love and sweetness and comfort, it is part of all that turns the wheel.

There is another darkness. A hunger that doesn't know for what it hungers. A void that eats with a parasitic appetite and is never satisfied. An open mouth and empty belly that consumes without pleasure. That black, sticky, slimy gick that can posess consciousness and intent and devour both healthy life and healthy death leaving nothing with which to start over. The energy sucking darkness.

I have encountered both energies in Our work. I support the former wholeheartedly, and have had help from both "light" guardians and "dark" guardians to overcome the latter.

Just wanted to make that distinction.

You make an excellent point. There is always the balance of yin and yang, as well as different useful applications for each. The purpose of the community I made is to check and balance different methods. When using the darker aspects to be effective it is possible to slip too far. I prefer to have feed back from people I respect when making such decisions. I am not hell bent on darkness; I just think it requires more supervision and consideration for ethics. I generally do not need help deciding if doing something the nice way is ethical.
