Hello *waves*

My name is Cynegyth and I'm a singleton/non-multiple or whatever you wish to call it that has been lurking here for a good while now and just taking in what's going on because I'm curious about Multiplicity in all it's forms.

I'm popping my head up again for only the second time I believe in what seems like forever lol because I've got a couple of questions that I hope you guys won't mind answering. If you don't want to or feel offended by anything I ask then please feel free to say so and I'll delete the post.

Firstly I've heard quite a few people/systems mention Inner Worlds, Soulscapes or a variation of other things I've heard it called. What's it like there? Is it like.. being in the real world but one of which only your system can exist? Or is it more dream like? I don't really want to hazard a guess because I have no clue and finally curiosity came out to bite me on the bum and I had to ask.

Second (of two) questions is what is it (if anything) do you guys value above anything else that a non-multiple doesn't have/possess?

Thanks for your time.

Cyn
xx

End rambling.

first off, Icon lurve. SPN FTW.

second, to answer question one, we have an inner world, called the honeycomb, a map of which you can find here (http://rickmacleod.bravehost.com)

it's nothing like the outer world, it's literally an infinite honeycomb, of hexagonal rooms, some having purpose, some empty. We all have our own bedrooms(except Faith and Tara who share, being married, although Faith has her excercise equipment in her old room) and we have a kitchen, bathroom, common room, and fronting room. Tara also has a garden which I created an "outdoor" space for in one of the cells.

We also have many things in our inner world which mimic things outside but are independant. We have an internet-type thing, as well as CCS technology(Cerebral Connection Software) and things like playstation, DVD's, such things.

I control most of the "settings" of the inner world, and can change them at will.

Ask anything you like, and I'll answer as best I can.

second question: the thing I think I value above all else, is having the others so near me. I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

if i may, would you mind explaining CCS? thank you in advance :)

[identity profile] ricktboy.livejournal.com 2007-04-01 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
CCS is, simplistically, a technology that allows the user to not just log in, and type on the internet/computer, but literally allows the user to become part of the machine.

Cables connect to a specially constructed port in your head, where microsurgical connections are made to connect the brain itself to your cable, the other end of which, plugs into your machine. having the proper software enabled(and the right know-how to utilize it fully)allows the surfer to literally enter the internet...

in the physical world, we're years away from this tech still, but in the honeycomb, we're wired....well, I am. cubbie's got one(a slot) and Wolf's been thinking about it.

if you have more questions, you can AIM me at Lizthebrain or email me LizjustLiz@gmail.com

That;s awesome.

but what if theres a virus or something, is it possible for it to get into your head, the way it would get into a computer?

[identity profile] ricktboy.livejournal.com 2007-04-02 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
no, there are firewalls, much more drastic than the ones in the physical realm...if you want a good mental image of this type of system, I suggest reading "Trouble and her Friends" by Melissa Scott.

great imagery, and pretty accurate desc...of our CCS, at least.

(I don't feel the need to have a journal of my own, so I'm using this one.)

About this inner world question. I myself see it as something that I wouldn't be able to cope without and something that is as real to me, as this world I am using now, as I'm writing this to you. I'm ofcourse only speaking for myself and have heard from people that also "use" this body, that they see it very differently. Just as people in this world see it in different ways.
Also, there have been moments that there has been someone outside our system, in "our" world. Mostly people that are also a part of a multiple system, other than our own.

Uh... I can't really think of anything else right now for the second question, but that atleast to me it feels like I'm now learning alot more than I used to, when I was not here. People have their own interets and like to chat about them, teach new things to me etc., even without me needing to front.

I hope this helped atleast a bit and that you can understand my rambling (which was not in my mother tongue). I'm very tired.

We value each other more than any other relationships we have. That, I think, is the only thing we have that a singlemind doesn't.

Hi. ::Waves:: Let's see. Question one. As for our otherworld it is sort of like this one only people are also there who don't ever front and don't ever want to. Second question, I dunno but it's a very good question.

Before I realised that there was more than one person with me, I had a soulscape (I refer to it as innerverse, Tahl calls it 'our place' as a rule): a big field, with shin-high grass, that stretches for miles to mountains and a forest in the distance. I realise now that the field is a nexus, a gathering point for a megstructure of different places. Each one of us has our own place: Rachael has her world, Pandora; Shad has a house on the edge of the field, that connects to his world (a barrier to keep them apart: he doesn't like mixing his personal reality with the rest of our). Tahl has a desert - its extremely hot, with salt flats and a brilliant view XD. I have a temple spot, which we call the Moonlit Pavillion, that we use to socialise in. I have used the field and the pavillion ever since I was very young, 7 or 8, as a place to meditate and relax. I only recently realised that there was far more to it.

Being there is like being here, but without the tactile sense for me (yet). I know its tactile for the others, but I am quite attached to the body, so I don't 'feel' there. I see very clearly though. Its nice, but there are different spots, and they all feel different. Tahl thinks this place is too cold, and I live in Australia XD.

I think the best thing is having Tahl and Rachael's company. They are more precious to me every day :3. I'm still pretty new at this, but I am very fond of these people already.

[identity profile] ricktboy.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 08:34 am (UTC)(link)
wow, what you said about "tactile" made sense. I'm really connected to the body, so it's difficult for me to feel there, but if I concentrate hard, I can.

There is a city, rather like central London. Nikki and Jay live in a trendy apartment above a cafe, and Ed lives in a small flat in a rougher area, with Steve living round the corner in a large house, although I've only seen his bedroom. There are things like shops and such but full of beings that are strangers to all of us.

The best thing about it is, even when your alone theres no reason to feel lonely, bored or scared :) there's alot of love going on here.

1) To kind of get a bit flighty about it, our inner world is like being here but more holistic/interconnected with us; it's sort of like if you've ever done yoga or meditation and felt like you could feel the ground so intensely that it was like another part of your body... like that.

2) Each other's senses of humour/funny statements on things around us. Keeps life light, sometimes.

(( SPN ftw \o/ )) ~the girls

For me, our house is as real as anywhere else. It's solid, seems more normal to me than when I try to do things in this world. To Selene it's more sort of dream like, always a little hazy, little details missing, textures don't come across so well. She doesn't live in here usually though, where I do.

I dunno what I like. The peace and quiet maybe. Fact I get to be close to my girl, lot more than I would otherwise get to be, and we don't get interrupted by anything. Nobody coming to get us or whatever. The girls like the company. Apparently it feels pretty cozy. That's from their view now though, would have felt noisy before. Used to it now so it'd probably be weird if it was gone.

(( If I had to seriously think about a benefit, I'd say being able to switch off occasionally. Lu's weak without me, and even I occasionally crash and burn really hard, and in those times it helps if someone else can help keep us up and running. Also, yes, company. I'm glad we have that. I'd never want to live without it. )) ~Selene

Your icon is excellent. :)

Far as the question goes, ehh. My world's my world and it's pretty much the same as this one. Just I got my own body there. Among other things.

Being on Laura is like being on earth, when we are there; how we think of and view the earth world is more "dreamlike" then. When we are at front, in the earth body, Laura seems like the "dreamlike" state. It is a solid world, though, to us; it's not merely a thought image. But sometimes, when we are at front, we have to take that on faith; just as when we are at home, we have to take the earth world on faith.

I have to say, I envy you guys' being able to solidly be there. for me, even when I'm in the honeycomb, i'm still very connected here, or else, i'm in a dreamlike state, where I don't know much of what's going on. I wish I could solidly be in the honeycomb.

Are you unable to stop bi-locating?

[identity profile] ricktboy.livejournal.com 2007-03-04 09:39 pm (UTC)(link)
i'm not sure what you mean. There are times I can be "in" the honeycomb, more solidly than usual, but I need to concentrate on it. without concentration, I'm usually "piggybacking" with others, even when I'm not anywhere near the front room.

if that is what you meant, than, no, I can't really stop it, unless I focus very hard, or meditate.

Bi-locating is being in two places at the same time.

[identity profile] tej-agni.livejournal.com 2007-03-05 04:17 am (UTC)(link)
I was curious if you were able to stop being in both places at the same time. Perhaps if you can be completely in one place then maybe it would be more solid for you? It was a passing thought.

[identity profile] ricktboy.livejournal.com 2007-03-05 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
no, I'm unable to fully be in one place. it sucks, though, I'd love to change that. if you have ideas I'd love to hear them.

[identity profile] cross-clan.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 06:58 am (UTC)(link)
Our "ineralty" is that of medieval fortress complete with dungeon and surounding grass lands. Our rooms/dwellings are as different as their inhabitants. Ranging from simple rock walls to marble floors with anchant roman colmans leading to huge dome ceilings. Here the rooms seem to count for more space then a structuer of this size would allow in the "outeralty"; but nobody seems to mind it is what it is home. The laws of physics do not apply here; You may have anything you want, even change aspects about it, color, texture and even smell. To me most dreams seem vague with little interaction. Though some of the others may disagree on the dream thing, as I do not have the nightmares they do. I guess the concept of reality may lay in the eye of the beholder.

As for your second qustion: I only imagine an existence with out the others as a hollow one.

Interesting questions!

We have a Soulscape (http://lion-azure.livejournal.com/41671.html), which feels just as real as this world does to me to the gang. To me, it's slightly less real - not dreamlike, but... hmmmm how do I explain this? It's a very good visualization. I can experience it with all of my senses when I'm there, but the input is slightly tuned down. The soulscape also has what I like to call an inner sense of continuity and reality. We can easily summon up new things (structures, items, even animals), but once they're there they behave very real-world. For example, the horse we "made" for one of our member's birthday has to be fed, cleaned and entertained, the grass grows, things get dirty etc.

As for your second question, that's an easy one: I always have my friends around. They might not always be there at my beck and call, but if I'm troubled, or want to share something, there will always be someone who listenes. And since they're in my head *g* they know me more intimately than even my blood relations do. Also, they might come up with ideas I haven't thought of.

We seem to have a big building, that's more or less on one level and has everyone's rooms, etc. It's hard to focus on it sometimes, especially for those who are more used to fronting, and when you're in there it has a very diffrent feel to the 'outside' world. Like the air's different or something.

We can control things, like the weather and what appears. Generally, people who've been around longer are better at making things, and Lynn's put age limits on some things too (Tash and Jenna are the only ones who can make any form of hallucinogen turn up, only over-16s can make alcohol, etc).

We have an inside-outside too, a big field with a wood and a park and a pool. :)

[identity profile] forever-alone.livejournal.com 2007-03-03 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
For us our innerworld is something we feel instead of see. I know that when I'm feeling really upset and I isolate myself, I get a sense of myself inside on an abandoned road. I know what it looks like, but I can't really see it and I don't feel like I'm actually there, it's more like it surrounds me... that makes no sense. Eh, it's too hard to explain.

For the second question, I think it would be knowing that there's always someone there for you no matter what, in a way that people outside can never be there.

[identity profile] asperites.livejournal.com 2007-03-08 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
What's it like there? Is it like.. being in the real world but one of which only your system can exist? Or is it more dream like?

Well for us, it's definitely different from daydreams. Before 2D came along, my daydreams were always out of proportion and crap. Well I no longer daydream these days, rather I tend to do crap in the inner space, especially with D the way he's been lately, suicidal and such. I have to keep an eye on him. But that's not the point. In the inner space, everything is perfectly proportionate. 2D is 6'2", and I'm 5'6". Dog is the size of a dog, and the house is the size of a house. Just like in real life. I also can't have them do stuff that I want them to do - they do what they want, unlike a daydream, where you control the characters. We have a house, and then there's the demon ruins, a road, a lake, forest, far off there's the Faceless City... It's pretty neat. I have a singlet friend who's jealous of me. o-O But you can also feel /pain/ in the inner space... Be sick or hurt in the inner space and the body can be fine... It's rather complicated.

Second (of two) questions is what is it (if anything) do you guys value above anything else that a non-multiple doesn't have/possess?

I like being able to have my best friends with me wherever I go. We're always there for eachother. Sort of. It depends on who you want there for you.. XD But you get what I mean. ~Kay
