It's kind of unnerving, because there's a pretty big outdoors area now, and still devoid of anything 'alive'

This is one reason we avoided going inside (and still don't venture out of the 'house'). Because it is frankly very fucking creepy. It's not a proper planet with working gravitational cycles or anything either, so there's no real breeze or weather change or... well, much really. It's quite a scary place. Especially before we moved in, when the whole place was fairly clinical.

The outside area still just creeps us all out.
