So...

We've been thinking of choosing a career path for the system to go down lately. And both I (Axel) and Troy seem to be rather interested in psychology. Diz is interested as well and no one else awake seems to have any problems (Aside from the fact that this means transfering schools).
However, the thought of a Multiple, of any type, going into psychology and perhaps becoming a psycologist is an interesting one...so we wanted to know if anyone else here has any experiance in the feild. Or any thoughts about us possibly going into it.

it's possible.. We've got a degree in psychology.. and are looking at grad school in that or our other major.. Major problem is the difficulty in getting into grad school for psychology .. it's pretty rough competition.. If you want to.. go for it.. don't know if you can practice with just an undergrad degree.. but maybe if you paired it up with something like social work and did the L.C.S.W route it would be easier..

we'd be glad to talk about our undergrad experiences.

We're majoring in Psychology, but don't plan on going into clinical psych. Instead we plan on going into something criminology.

We're about to finish a degree and get the certificate for chemical dependence counselling; and once we're done with that we're pursuing a degree in psychology.

Our options after that are fairly wild, as not all of us agree on the same thing to do. We've figured about seven options are actually viable, and are trying to work out which one to follow. (Otherwise, we might be in school until we're dead.)

We know of three multiples who are practicing clinical psychologists and one who is a research psychologist. Ask [livejournal.com profile] nansvision or [livejournal.com profile] fragmented_me also.

actually, I've had three different therapists recommend I qualify for funding and should go into the field...which really makes you wonder about your therapist, ya know? :P

We went to a University in Glasgow (Scotland) and Studied Psychology & Computer Science. Unfortunately we had a lot of 'head stuff' going on at the time and only managed two years before the maths (Part of the CS side of the course) sunk us.

Given the chance of going back and doing it now, we wouldn't hesitate. Unfortunately funding for a "Second Go" is not really availiable. Maybe we will consider part time study.

If you go for it. Good luck.

Rachael.
