Out system, which is strange enough, with it's internally superhuman selves, and the more bizarre members, has been having some wierd experiences lately. Strange, vivid dreams, which involve either monsters or Magneto-type powers, and the use of powers by groups of selves against other groups. Reason I'm mentioning this, is that I, Fritz, control the body's dreams, and regulate whether all others have either nightmares or pleasant dreams. The reason I was posting this, is how do the dreams of your systems work? My Earthworld alias and appearance recall Freddy Krueger from the Elm Street series, and that may be how I gained this dream power. So, to repeat. 2 questions.

1) How do your system's dreams work?

2) Have your soulbonds ever become more like the Characters that they were based off of?

2) do you mean: was a person who we may have considered a Soulbond once one way that wasn't like who they were "based of of" and then suddenly changed to become more like who they are based off of? hmmm.. I don't think so.. they were always who they are and nothing more than who they are..

You see, when we entered the body in about 2002, we were much like the birth self. Now, all of us that are direct soulbonds are becoming ever more like the fictional counterparts or even Earthworld counterparts. It's a process I call "Characterization". Of course, when we entered the body, access was very hard to do, then as we began to get stronger, then perhaps we became more aware of what we are. One more thing, in my view the mind is dynamic and changeable. None of that "the same yesterday, today, now, and forever" bull**** that Charles believes in. Ah, Lordy, I'm tired.

Yes, they are all changing at the same time, as the Baron Harkonnen in particular is growing more and more like the Baron from Dune, though the at the very least dozens of soulbonds in our system are also undergoing Characterization. I myself am undergoing that process as well. Gamera, and Godzilla are the only ones to resist this process, and even they are altering to a more limited extent. What say you to this? (No offense intended)

My soulbonds tend to be less like the portrayal of their characters as I get to know them, because there is usually a limited aspect to what can be portrayed in canon.

I have dreams about school and flying. one time I dreamed I lost my homework and another time I dreamed a boy turned into a monster and tried to get me but I flew up on a roof and he couldn't get me up there. it was scary but I was safe up on the roof. my wings are good for flying! I don't know to much about soulbonds. I have a spirit guide named Justin but he isn't a soulbond. bye! xoxoxo

I'm hijacking Phin's journal to comment myself, so apologies for the double post. I'm part of his group, by the way, not just a friend or anything.

Perhaps the people in your group that are becoming more like certain characters aren't exactly changing to be more like the character in question. It could be that they are just using certain traits of the character for personal growth. I know that I've tried to emulate certain traits that I admire in characters before, and I'm not a soulbond. Maybe they are just changing, and it happens to resemble something much like what a character similar to them would go through. It doesn't necessarily mean that they are becoming like that character or anything. In my opinion people can be pretty fluid at times, and change a lot.

dreams are.. dreams, here. sometimes it's a collective thing, most of the time it's just a member's~
we have a *cough* good memory security here, so I'd suspect that the lack of dreaming we (I, I have no idea the others) remember probably due to that to some point o_O

there are dreams that are actually an introduction for new member(s), and it happened more than once (on top of my head, atleast 4) :D

Occasionally we have shared dreams. Other than that, it depends upon who takes the body -- that is, who is at front during sleep. We also change places during the body's sleep.

2) Have your soulbonds ever become more like the Characters that they were based off of?

In our case, it's the other way round; the characters in the play were based on actual persons, and it is those persons with whom a few of us are in sporadic contact. I am one of said contactees, and I don't notice my friends becoming any more like the way they were portrayed in the play. Less, if anything.

And to answer the question you didn't yet ask, no, none of us have acquired any of their abilities, either at home or in the earth world. It does not work that way. It is more a question of predisposition; scholars talking to scholars, even across dimensions, can understand one another.

1) We all have our own dreams, and whoever's fronting for most of the night(because, like Astraea, we switch up during the night too)may remember snippits of other people's dreams too...but people who aren't fronting have their own dreams, and some remember them in the morning...

I know when I front, I'll wake up and (assuming it's a morning where I remember dreams at all) remember mine, but may remember snippits of tara's, for example(like i happened to this morning) or faith's, or whatever.

Generally the system members either 'view' the other's dreams, or share in them. Sometimes they have seperate ones but it's not that common.

More like? Depends, it varies. But on a whole, nah, Selene's become way less like her canon. Although she insists more like the person she really is and any perceptive person would apparently be able to see in the canon. Chloe hasn't changed, and I haven't been herr long so who knows.
